    What do you want?

Ok so im recently back to SWTOR, well i was always subbed but didn't play often so i consider myself back but i was thinking of what things could be added to this game so I decided to make a thread just for fun!

    Name 1 thing you want:
Mine is that they introduce a guild housing - 'Guild' Class destroyers in which you would have all the basic housing and ship stuff needed and the player phased ships parked in the hangers i think it could be expanded upon to have Guild v Guild space battles, say you and the guild mates maybe 20-40 people fly your ships around comppleting the objectives then go in to land in their ship whilst fighting them in both phases and kill them and their pilot who just so happens to be a big ass boss

Then 1 thing you dislike/want removed:
Mine is that i dislike the small i think its 5m radius of the seeker droid, i think it should be a lot bigger or they should reduce its Cd/allow multiple ones to be cast at a time cause hell no am i lvling a new crew skill to get extra range!

I'll see how this plays out... but I am sensing a lot of terrible posts incoming. Consider this a warning ahead of time :P

    Got better things to do.

For now Cross Realm Queues would be nice, though I still think a completely customizable interface and add-on enviro would make a ton of players happy, imo. Too bad the devs do not agree.

    -Model-

Want: Subscribers to have more rewards (accomplished by eliminating the do not want)

Don't Want: Punishment based F2P model - remove/drastically raise the credit caps to allow stipends to be more useful, lower the cost of some items, allow more ways to earn coins in the game, sell all content on the Cartel Market as opposed to cash only, premanent unlocks, etc.

    -Game-

Want: Properly design and implement alternate end game activities (Ex. turning your ship into player housing, allowing customization inside and out, allow special missions that give ship upgrades, paint jobs, furniture, as well as currency to buy PvE gear.

Don't Want: End game that revolves around poorly implemented daily hubs as the only thing to do outisde of raiding and PvP.

    Two things.

    1. Business model: I'd love to see a less restrictive business model that didn't constantly harass you in-game and remind you of how much you're missing out on. Something more akin to what Tera has done with the "Subscriber positive" model rather than the "F2P player negative" model. They're slowly (very) moving in this direction, but they're still running an archaic model that should be long gone at this point.

    2. Content-wise, I'd love to see them focus less on raiding and PvP and much more on story and different methods of max level content (free-form space flight, more minigames etc). We have enough raiding games already, but not many that focus heavily on story or deliver good story. I know a lot of people picked up the game for the story, and expected class stories to continue, but that hasn't happened (and kinda won't apparently). I think there's a definite niche for a non-traditional endgame game built around story (GW2 has story, but it's not a huge focus in the game compared to how central it is to SWTOR, and TSW is a totally different type of game) and SWTOR has a strong foundation to build upon.

Want removed? Dailies as content. Dailies should never be content, and never be manditory. Ever. If you're going to put them in, I think GW2 has a pretty solid model (can be accomplished through normal play pretty much anywhere and gives you a variety of options to choose from), but I hate the traditional implementation of dailies. They are truly the lowest form of development.

Redit: Wow. Kitty. Get out of my head. I didn't even read your post until after I posted mine...

Well, I don't think Dailies should be phased out completely. I like a way of getting credits without having to worry about professions all that much. Granted I could probably make a killing right now with Slicing- I still like dailies as a form of income. OF course I agree that it shouldn't be completely mandatory.

Also, it seems now in SWTOR that they are only mandatory for reputation, otherwise you don't have to do dailies. Very few members in my guild do dailies outside of the weekly missions asking you to complete 3 flashpoints or something.

Yeah, I don't know how mandatory or not they are in SWTOR, I'm mainly speaking in generalities when referring to dailies (I know WoW made them semi-mandatory for progression for a while). I think this is mainly my utter disdain for dailies. Like, other than fishing in MMO's (the fucking WORST), dailies are my most hated aspect of a MMO.

Heh...I've been thinking about my perfect SWTOR for a looong time. I respected the wishes of the OP and Forsedar and kept it to the one reason, though I did feel the need to distinguish between model and game because they are two different things to me at this point.

Me either...I'll complain about them if they become to prevalent, but I like having them there. A game without dailies at this point would possibly be a little bit boring to me. Even having GW2's minute, but innovative, daily makes me start with a goal in the back of my mind that usually leads me to deeper play sessions.

I just don't like them being the only thing outside of raiding and pvp. SWTOR could really capitalize on the weatlh of 'extra' activities they could add. Hopefully the new systems are the launch pad for doing great things in that area. I think the ship has sailed on concepts like I mentioned where space is a fully fledged variety of features, even if it was only with on rails combat.

Maybe not though. Maybe the money they get from all these cartel packs will really turn into something amazing one day. I just won't help fund or support it until that day comes.

I 100% agree. Part of the reason I returned to SWTOR were because I couldn't put all the time needed to stay on course in WoW due to just moving, working, etc. I HAD to do dailies, and it felt a bit shitty. Granted on my days off I find myself doing some dailies in SWTOR to fund crew skill missions (which give a huge payout), its not too bad in moderation.

Edit: Thanks for not going too far Kitty This can be a productive thread, and its been a while since everyone here was able to just sit back and talk about changes they would like to see go through so the game can prosper.

I think you would be pleasantly surprised with the addition of the Seeker Droids and Microbinocs. It's not a game changer, by any means, but it's a different way of getting things done in the game on a day to day basis. The daily rewards from them are underwhelming, but it's more fun being able to actually dig multiple locations for your "treasure".

I can see it getting old after doing each planet multiple times, though.

Well, I am now in a 93,000 player queue so... I guess I have a little time. That's what I get for getting up lol.

    What I want?

Some star war in my Star Wars.

In PvP, ships would have a Ilv budget cap. You can adjust your stats within the budget but never exceed it. So, you could customize your ship rather than make it stronger than other players (in PvP). There would be 8v8 and 16v16 space matches (larger if the engine could handle it). Capture the points (dominion), death match, destroy the capital ship (defend / attack), capture the flag, ect. Your character would have "rank" which would unlock custom blaster colors, paint jobs, engine burn colors, ect. Ship sizes would be standardized, hit boxes matched.

In PvE, there would be 8 and 16 man PvE: kill all waves of enemies, kill the boss ship, kill the capital ship, escape capture, destroy the beacons, capture the flag, ect. There would be multiple tiers of gear, new ships, new abilities, ect. Working the new ships into the PvP could work, eventually.

LFG for both PvE and PvP. Controls would be modeled after Freelancer/Starconflict (free flight space combat).

In addition to instanced/queued PvP and PvE, there would be a "open space" zones like bandits den.
IE: Ruins of the Mandalorian Barricade: A ship grave yard left over from the last sith conflict. Ship scanners are dampened by the debris. Trust your eyes and your feelings. In this zone you can find ghost ships that you can board and loot. Beware of pirates, the enemy faction (npcs AND players), and anything else you can think up. Think dynamic events (Ares missions) in firefall.

Also, a faction story arc where you get more involved in the war through your participation in the space conflicts spanning level 15 to 55 that correlates to the planet quests that you are working on giving you another perspective on the story.

    Just that.
Some star wars in the my Star Wars.

I think it's a good first step. We will see if it unfolds how it should though. Right now I'm kinda going through an MMO rotation. So whole I have SWTOR and WoW uninstalled, it's mainly to keep myself focused and resist temptation to get into either of them because they honestly require money to play properly. Right now I focused to buckle down and do some things in GW2, then I'll move on to Rift when their big patch hits (as I have free time stored up), and then I'll figure out where I'm at.

If SWTOR adds some more features like those by the time I start to question what to play, it will certainly be easier to think of paying any sort of money to get Makeb and dust off my Chiss BH. It's just hard to hope for features like that to grow into something really awesome when the majority of what we have to judge is the Cartel Packs. I'm hoping this year is a drastically different one than we have been experiencing and that by the time F2P has been live for a year we have the game in a shape it should have been in from the start.

Let's all dream really, really hard!

Rakata gear back on one of the old vendors, I want the shell for my Guardian when I finish it. Oh, and customization implemented like now, I loves me that stuff.

Server Merges or Cross-Server play. I've got a friend on a different server then mine.

I'd also like to see more tools for RP'ing. The animation for sitting and kneeling is something that should've been in-game already, and not added later (I'm glad they did add it,finally). But I'd also like to see more of something that involves 'Player-housing' as mentioned before.

I'm happy with the game so far. Lots of things could've been better, but well.. I'm still enjoying it!

I would have liked to have not had to change my character names on merge. With legacy names, it should have helped prevent that (unless you didn't hit legacy yet, back when it was after Act 2 was it?). On top of that, i'd also like some of the fluff that became purchaseable with the F2P model back in. Hide helm/cloak/legacy name. Little things like that drove me nuts when I came back briefly with F2P.

I do like the guild destroyer (housing) idea.

This is exactly why I finally not just quit WoW, but took the step of uninstalling it (just to make sure I had extra hoops to jump through if I considered playing again). I disagree with Blizzard's design philosophy regarding dailies, which I have no desire to be required to do so often as I had to, and finally quit just after we killed normal Iron Qon. (as a side note, it's been a month and they're still only 1/13 Heroic now, so I don't feel so bad).

Dailies were fine in Burning Crusade. Want a cool mount? Do these dailies and eventually you'll get it. Nothing required, nothing that increased your power, just some fun side stuff. But to make you do dailies to get entry raiding gear? Go to hell, Blizzard.

To stay on topic, what I'd like to see are the following:

    1) Update the auction house to be non-archaic. They had a golden opportunity when the game launched to basically copy/paste Auctionator or Auctioneer onto their auction house template. It's not terrible that they didn't go that far, but the fact that the auction house functionality is WORSE than WoW's was in Vanilla is inexcusable.

    2) Cross-realm ranked warzones, but keep same-server regular warzones. This will entice the premades to go do their ranked and stay out of the unranked 55's so us pugs can just fumble about and wallow in our badness together, instead of getting steamrolled repeatedly by ranked-quality premades.

    3) I'd like crafting at 55 to be less of a puzzle to figure out how to get certain patterns. I'm an artificer and just hit 55 after coming back to the game for a long time, and having to figure out where to get certain crystals to reverse engineer, and how many I'm able to get, or how to do what, just so I can learn a stupid crystal pattern shouldn't be so involved. I don't mind if the work itself takes a while, but the learning about how to actually go about it is a royal PitA if you haven't been around for a bit. Thankfully, Dulfy is excellent for this, but if someone didn't know about that of if Dulfy wasn't around, it would be very painful getting this all straight.

    4) Drop rates of decent stuff in cartel packs needs to go up a bit or else people will stop buying them out of frustration. Having a carrot is fine, but the horse has to actually be able to reach it every so often or else it will just give up.

    5) Part of me wants server transfers in order to consolidate the toons I have in one place, but part of me fears for what it will the ramifications will be. For faction balance - server transfers were part of what is hurting servers in WoW, as all of the less dominant faction transfers off to realms where their faction is stronger. Plus they obviously did a decent amount of work to consolidate the 100+ servers into a handful that all have healthy and relatively equal populations. It's actually more than reasonable the way it is right now.

    6) And for crying out loud, give me my frickin' mouseover healing already goddammit!!!

    Want:

    FPS stable game experience
    - currently drop in fps every few minutes in every graphic setting (very high from 60 to 5..... very low from 100+ to 20ish)

    Beneficial system for subscriber

    - emotes being free
    - future content can be bought with cartel coins
    - CE owner get all old armor models (PvP and PvE) as recipies on their vendor

    Social Games

    Card games on Nar Shadda
Swoop Races all over the Galaxy
Pitfights (1 vs. 1 or 2 vs. 2 pvp which give commodations and a top 10 list which resets every half year)
Pitfights for Companions?! (Companion vs. Companion)

    Don't Want:

    Commodations

Why all these different commodations for everything? Planetary, Classic.... etc. etc. just give me one Commodation for which I can buy whatever. Warzone Comms and Ranked Warzone Comms... most player don't do ranked so it's a pure timesink to exchange your warzone comms to ranked warzone comms to trade in for a piece of armor..... and increase the cap drastically. Take out the armor rewards for killing mobs (in Flashpoints and old Operations), just give me commodations which I can turn in. Leave the tokens as they are now for new/ Hardmode Operations.

I might be alone in this but I went from initial excitement to depression and disappointed, when it comes to the seeker droid and microbinocs. Both start out really well; it is something, kinda-sorta, new and the story is interesting. When I went into the first hideout of the microbinoc series, and saw the laser grid, I shrieked in delight. The problem is, there was 70% repetitive boredom in both series.

Basically, just ran you through every single planet on your galaxy map, to A) dig out garbage and B) look for antennae. Not to mention the anticlimactic ending of the microbinoc series. Was like a really underwhelming bond movie. They had great ideas but they could not follow through with it.
