    10M Heroic Tortos Issues

We have been working on Heroic Tortos for a couple days now and still haven't really gotten anywhere. Mainly due to we keep switching strategies up and none have seemed to work so far. We have tried tanking the bats and kiting them, having no real success with either. When tanking them they either stay up too long and kill the tank or don't die before the next set comes then we get backed up. Or if we kite them (Blood DK going Frost) about 3-4 sets in it all goes to shit and there get to be too many bats or we will have strays that go to someone else. I know Brew Monks are suppose to be OP for kiting but it just seems impossible with a DK to keep complete control. Really need some solid advice with our group composition and what to do.

    Prot Warrior
    Blood DK
    Disc Priest
    Holy Paladin
    Ret Paladin
    Assass Rogue
    Afflic Warlock
    Surv Hunter
    Balance Druid
    Fire Mage

That setup is quite the same we have for tortos. For healing I personally prefer either holy pala/disc priest for tank and HoT class for raid (hoyl priest with renew or druid or monk).

However, our dk kites in blood presence to keep aggro better and to give survivability for oh shit moments. Aff lock keeps slow on turtles AND bats and keeps corruption on all bats all the time which eventually kills them.

Fos us it took some practice and we thought we never kill the boss while wiping at 60-80 % all the time.

Then at 1 pull everything went great and we killed the boss never having any low % wipes. It took like 20-30 pulls to kill the boss.

Our Lock seems to have issues keeping it up on Turtles and Bats. Cause the bats would need to be 100% slowed for the DK to kite in Blood Presence or else they will catch him. As Frost we had our DK go Unholy Presence for the speed boost.

    Hello,

While perfectly viable, the kiting tactic is risky business. The warlock should have little issues slowing anything if he burns a SoC on the bats, that will generate shards for him and he'll be able to burn coEx on every turtle spawn and on all bats.

I'd suggest you do a tactic in between and see what happens: tank the bats near the boss, shoot a turtle through them when you have enough dead turtles, kill the bats (because they now will take a lot more extra damage and they will basically melt). Do not touch the bats before unless you're a warlock, because that's basically just wasted dps.

    Good luck.

They shouldn't catch him if he is using chillblains. He doesn't need to spam HB on them, just enough to keep the snare up. He will need to keep at maximum HB range though to ensure they don't catch up during the quake stun, and he will need to be in blood presence to prevent the bats from targeting healers. The bigger issue is making sure he collects the next group without them spreading out too much. Gorefiends Grasp should help with this, but there is still isn't much room for error. Frost DKs can certainly get the kiting job done, but overall there is far less room for error than just having a second tank pick them up and nuking them down.

If you are kiting you can try using righteous fury on your holy pally, and he tries to stay close to the dk kiter, so he can gain initial threat on the bats, and the dk can pick them off of him before they land. That's how we did it.

Im a prot warrior, who goes on a frost dk for this fight

Using chillblains to slow them with HB

Using glyph for DnD to slow them + turtles

Our hunter/warlock stuns the bats when new bats spawn, so all i need to focus on is picking the new ones up.

Its a easy healer fight because of the crystals, so you can choose to 2 heal it, 3healing is working aswell.

Dk in Blood presence as frost obv. get the hunter to MD if needed.

If ur dk is good, kiting shouldnt be difficult, and then its an easy fight !

The kiting player needs to communicate very well with the raid, asking for stuns or slows before the stomps, if done correctly, the fight is just easy as normal. Tanking the bats depends on your healers setup and if they can keep your shield up, if they do, just bring them on top of the other tank and burn them before the stomps, and well, if not, you will have to kite them until they are all dead. In both cases you will have to use a dead turtle on them whenever you can and call for stuns, slows, external CD's on cooldown.

This is me tanking/kiting the bats, if you need more help just send me a PM.
