[Prot] 2H while not tanking - better or worse?

Greetings.
I was wondering, would it be worth it to swap to 2H weapon while you aren't tanking the boss, or would not having SotR outweight any weapon damage benefit? This is mostly just curiousity, as I don't really have any 2H to test it.

Worth it in terms of? Damage? Without a shield all you can do is CS and Judge. Considering AS hits for a decent amount even without vengeance, damage-wise you're gimping yourself.

Oh, I totally forgot that AS also needs a shield. AS+SotR are about 30% of total dps, I guess no weapon damage can catch up with that.

Weapon damage seems to be surprisingly unimportant for prot dps. Crusader strike is the only ability for which weapon damage matters, according to Theck.

Melee hits, HotR and SoR aswell. Still a giant lackluster.
