    Wish pandaren were more agressive

Note: by aggressive I don't meant violent beings which are looking for a fight. I mean more apprehensive, more like Bruce Lee you know? As if there's a constant fire brewing beneath their calm facade, a fire that's ready to burst and burn you to ashes if you disrespect their lands.

I just saw this piece of artwork on the MMO Champion front page, and I wish this had been the atmosphere of pandaria. More warrior monks constantly alert, less "relax, enjoy, stay a while" and all that.

Like I understand that Pandaren are supposed to be the "let's all chill for a while expansion", but that doesn't mean that they have to generally be represented as this almost clueless and disillusioned race whose only aware leaders of true dangers are the Shado Pan and such.

I really like this screenshot, it looks like they have some "oomph" in them. I wish the atmosphere in the whole of pandaria would have been the same. I mean this is a land where thinking bad things makes EVIL SHIT pop out of the ground, you'd think everyone would be a bit more alert at all times.

There are they are called the Shado pan and their leader hates us for what we have done to his home.

I suggest you read The Trial of the Red Blossoms short story - http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/game/lor...red-blossoms/1
The Pandaren in that are not warm and cuddly at all.

"I can kill you right now as a merciful alternative to the punishment described by loyal Feng. It would be quick and painless; my blade would be through your neck before you could blink."

"And then we will take the scroll from you, as well as your life. But don't think that this means we will simply kill you, thief. When the Shado-pan take your life, it means that your life comes into our possession. We will bind you, take your eyes, your feet, and all but two of your fingers so that you can feed yourself. Then you will be strapped to a mount and carried to our monastery high in Kun-Lai Summit. Upon your arrival, you will be placed on an ice-rimmed ledge to wait for our Truthseekers."

"The Shado-pan Truthseekers will teach you that the previous removal of your eyes was only the first and most gentle of our gifts. They will find out how you have been corrupted by the sha, what you know of their designs, and whether we should toss you to the canyon winds for judgment."

It very much outlines that the Shado Pan are not just grim fighters of Pandaria. But almost operate on a secret police level of authority to safeguard their land from threats like the Sha. The happy go nature of the Pandaren really belies the cruelty that the Shado Pan for instance are capable of.

How about just having 13 different versions of Orcs in the game. One more aggressive than the other.

If they were more aggresive, they would have Unleashed the Sha.

I never said they were warm and cuddly please don't start putting words into my mouth I'm not trying to turn this into another "lol the op thinks pandaria is kung fu panda" I didn't even see that movie, I just know that Snoop Dog voices a character in there (I think).

I'm just saying I wished Pandaren were all represented as a more apprehensive and alert race, akin to the Shado Pan sect, although maybe on a lower level of aggressiveness towards newcomers.

Like in that artwork, her face says "I'll give you a bite of my apple if you're nice, but if you fuck with me I'll shove it in your eye socket and let the maggots eat your brain".

I think that's pretty badass. It reminds me of Lilu from the 5th Element, she's a really chill person if you're kind to her but if you threaten her she'll bust some moves and leave you in the gutter.

Ok, replace aggressive with apprehensive. I don't think there's a Sha of apprehensiveness.

As allready said. Shadopan IS the dark side of the pandaren society. It's because of their fierceness that the "other" pandarens can live in peace, smiles, and brews.

I am kind of scratching my head over what is so "aggressive" in that image. I see two scared goblins and a pandaren enjoying an apple, even in the face of overwhelming odds. Most Pandaren are like that, happy-go-lucky even in the face of danger, but willing to turn up the heat if they truly are threatened or hurt, just like the Pandaren in that image.

This. Its the delicate pandaren balance.

Well, Shado Pan aren't a dark side. It's not like they're Sith vs Jedis, they're not evil or violent. They're just always ready when shit goes down, which I think all pandaren should be. You can get drunk and party all night but when you live on a land under which are imprisoned some weird evil shit you should always be ready and alert to it.

Not to mention when there's an army of Zerg lurking on the other side of a wall ready to bust in your farmlands every 1000 years.

That's exactly what I mean! But they don't seem to be represented like that in game, at least not the "turn up the heat" part.

Yeah, the pandaren are all portrayed very much as dumb, ignorant loafs.

I quite liked it when Chen was introduced as a mysterious pandaren, he had this whole alcohol and humorous thing going on around him but we also knew he was a master at martial arts. Pandaria as super-mysterious, never to be found, place was a great concept.

But by making the continent open and explored, it's just ... stupid now. They should've kept pandaren ultra-rare and mysterious instead of introducing us to a chinese land of milk and honey with clumsy pandabears.

    2 things:

1.) Taran-Zhu has given the Horde 1 season to leave Pandaria or to dethrone Garrosh. Otherwise he and the Shado-Pan will forcibly remove them.

2.) In the final quests of Jade Forest Lorewalker Cho even says that no one on Pandaria believed that sha of the magnitude that destroy the statues could ever exist. "We thought they were a myth, something to scare children and make them behave"

To see some of this emotion one simply needs to read the quest text on their way to the Loremaster achieve. VoFW is meant to be light hearted and fun (honestly one of my favorite zones to level in the game) whereas Townlong, Dread Wastes, and Kun Lai to an extent are where the Pandaren turn up the "fire" you are speaking of.

Well, shouldn't it be the Shado-Pan's responsibility to keep Pandaren informed of the truth? I mean letting your race go around without knowing the dangers of their own land is pretty irresponsible.

Lorewalker Cho is a historian. You can't get much more informed than a master lorewalker. I'm sure the Shado-Pan weren't aware of the true danger that Pandaria held either.

Also, assuming that there are pandaren who could become "evil" and desire power, knowing of the recesses of power laden around Pandaria, Y'sharraj's heart, the ability to manifest the sha by instigating strife, could easily give people without Pandaria's interest into a position to fight for power they didn't have before.

Wait what do you mean like Bruce Lee. He always remained fluid and calm. Unless you mean being vocal when they fight.
