    Subscribers per region...

It seems some people seem shocked when the numbers are pointed out to them... But here are the subscribers per region:

    Asia: 4,96 million subscribers
    West US: 1,7 million subscribers
    West EU: 1,6 million subscribers

    Total: 8,3 million subscribers.

At least these are my reasoned estimates. If you disagree feel free to copy the template below and explain which figures you think are a better estimation.

    Asia:
    West US:
    West EU:
    Freedom without Socialism = Plutocracy
    Socialism without Freedom = Tyranny

60% of the subscribers are from Asia
and it's not odd to assume that US has a bigger share of subscribers than the EU too.

    I think its:

    5 players in Asia.
    10 players in America.
    15 players in Europe.

This comes from my rough estimate and thanks to my IQ of 200.

The opinion of someone that wow has more than 30 players total is .. an opinion !

    Mine is a fact.

IT : statistics pulled out of asses are never a good start for troll threads. Try harder.

Plus you could have written this useless thread in one of the other 20+ weekly topics on the matter .

    Have a good day!

These ratios have always been my estimate and understanding from the numbers we have been given. It surprised me to see that people didn't realize that the majority of subscribers are from Asia, that is all. So I'm more than interested to open the debate and discussion on this...

So are you completely and totally ignoring the fact that they have stated that most of the losses are in Asia? (in at least this call and last call).

Its completely and utterly open to interpretation it could mean 1% more or 50% more.

And you (and your post history) confirms how much you like to "stir the pot" to try and get reactions from people.

Therefore the above poster is 100% correct and you are just pulling numbers out of your ass with ZERO basis in fact.

To try and answer your question.

I do think Asia --> EU = US.

I find it very odd (well no in fact I don't find it odd at all) that your "source" data is East and West but you don't include that in your poll.

    So I also think.

    West --> East.

I am also very confused about what you mean by West US is there a US in the East?

How do you reason that with this information? http://users.telenet.be/mmodata/Charts/Subs-1.png

I'd be hard pressed to believe that there has been a balance change over the past few years. More than most likely 'East' still holds the majority of the subscriber numbers over West (US + EU) combined.

Is it so weird to assume that the US would have more players than EU too with the population difference?

It seems people get offended at the idea of Asia having much more subscribers than the US ...

Looking at ATVI online revenues, which include subscriptions, sale of sparkle ponies, server/race/gender/whatever changes, online sales of SC II and Diablo III, RMAH revenues, COD map packs, whatever else you can buy digitally from Activision and letting publishers and toy/card game manufacturers use the brands, subscriptions in the "West" (US, Europe, Korea as they pay meaningful subscriptions too) can be anywhere between virtually zero and 4,5 millions.

Because that is what Blizzard has told us?

We will never know for fact until they tell us, until then you are pulling numbers out of your ass.

I am not offended at all that Asia having more subs than the US (especially since I am from the EU) I just no longer think it is true.

As I say, you and your post history proves how much you like to sensationalise to get a reaction from people.

So you're of the opinion that the numbers would look something like this instead:

    EU: 4,7 million subscribers
    US: 3,1 million subscribers
    Asia: 0,5 million subscribers ...

    Interesting numbers. ;p

Ofcourse I'm pulling numbers out of my ass, that's what people do when they make reasoned estimations. You're welcome to post your own estimations if you'd like.

And obviously I do enjoy getting reactions from people. Would be a pretty bland forum if people didn't reply to eachother's posts. I like to encourage to debate and discussion.

But besides that it's probably appreciated that we get to the topic of the thread instead.

Wow, actually thought we'd have real numbers, but no, it's just some guy's estimates. Move along, nothing to see here.

I believe EU has more than US, Asia doesnt have that much. I mean its pretty obvious, EU has more than twice as much population than North America (750 mil vs 320 mil), even if you take Mexico etc into consideration, EU should have most subscribers.

    What did you think?

The image linked is based on actual numbers that were announced during shareholders calls - but they stopped seperating East and West (as the image shows its now global instead). But it will give good estimate how the playerbase is on each region mostly.
I doubt we suddenly saw major switch like "there used to be 6 million on Asia and 4 million on west but in 2013 it flipped other way around but we aint telling!"

As MMO it is popular. Most MMOs come to EU late, not at all or have some sketchy EU-only things.
Tho MMOs in general might not be as popular - language things and generally gaming things.

Well, I don’t see why women are being blamed if man is stupid enough to really think they have red and gold eyelids.
