Controversial threads: your pet peeves

Hey there, everyone.

It seems there has been a bit of a raise on threads deemed as "controversial". You know, the type of thread I'll most likely be in arguing for nothing (and generally getting my butt handed to me on a silver plater... you didn't just read that! >.> ), the type that will include generally two diametrically opposed positions, along with fence sitters getting the bad end of both poles.

Question: what is your pet peeve when it comes to controversial threads here? Which ones are you sick and tired of seeing pop? I'd be curious to know.

Mine: a toss-up between illegal immigration threads and topics that lead to gay bashing.

I agree with this, definitely the top on my list. I stand by my original statement though, I hate controversial threads in general.

Friendzone / Girlfriend / Boyfriend Advice Threads.

Fact #1: There is no friendzone. It is an imaginary place a bunch of scrawny shy and socially awkward nerds created so they had an excuse as to why the super smoking hot teen sex idol in their school wouldn't date them, usually filled with spewed nonsense such as; "Yeh, I'm really nice to her, but I'm just in the friend zone" or the classic: "Yeh, we talked once so she is obviously going to be my wife, then the bitch put me in the friendzone!"

Fact #2: While seeking advice from your peers is usually a good idea, asking for it from a gaming forum isn't the smartest thing you could do. Advice needs to come in a form of emotional connection, not some text that you can perceive in a different manner, then what the poster actually meant.

Fact #3: I've been told I can announce, on behalf of humanity, society and the future, past and present generations of this universe, that we don't care about your lack of spine to handle your situation, please deal with it yourself. Sincerely, all of humanity.

Wow, I totally forgot about that one (well it was rather about stopping child abuse and animal abuse, but it comes down to the exact same dilemna). But yeah, this one was something alright! One of the finest catch 22 examples you could find!

On a more serious note, all threads/posts that contain:
- a large amount of bias
- bad sources
- fallacies
- ponies
- stupidity

This is about 80% of what is posted here, but I still find myself posting in them out of sheer boredom/the need to make a witty/sarcastic comment.
