    [TV] Eurovision Song Contest 2013

The final begins in an hour.

Denmark is the big favorite along with at least Netherlands and Azerbaijan. My personal favorites for this year are Denmark and Finland (if not only for the female-female kiss that has made some countries even drop the show from tv altogether, lol).

The music is of course pretty shallow as usual, but the surroundings, lightning and pyro effects should be more majestic than ever before. Looking forward to an entertaining evening.

Havn't seen much of it, only a few songs, I like Norway and Hungary though so I hope one of those win. Will miss the final as we are going for a drink.

Our song(Sweden) sounds like quite generic radio pop, so it might get some commercial success.
The nerve is called the "nerve of awareness". You cant dissect it. Its a current that runs up the center of your spine. I dont know if any of you have sat down, crossed your legs, smoked DMT, and watch what happens... but what happens to me is this big thing goes RRRRRRRRRAAAAAWWW! up my spine and flashes in my brain... well apparently thats whats going to happen if I do this stuff...

I usually dont care that much about the Eurovision. it used to be always that neighbour countries gave each other 12 points, and as the OP says usually lots of shallow songs.
However this year (and i am very biased ofcourse as im dutch) i'm kinda proud of the dutch song, finally nothing shallow, crazy or tries to copy last years winner. Though this song takes a few times before you start to appreciate it.

Denmarks song is quite catchy, and i do expect them to win however being it a simple song.

I think Denmark has got the best song from what i've seen and i think they have the biggest chance to win.
Finland was pretty good as well(loved the kiss at the end ). Azerbeidzan was a bit... well i didn't like that song too much, but i think it was very weird and awesome to have someone moving and well performing in a glass cage(that was azerbeidzan right?).
I'm dutch too and i don't like our song that much... last years song was better imo...remember 'dat indian'?.
but since i've been amazed b4 with those crazy songs making it to the finals who knows *shrugs*.

I dont follow the faves as, lets face it, the voting system is naft

I haven't even kept up with who us (uk) are entering

but I always watch it, its a good watch, even more so if we get to see a full on snog from two women! hey, sex sells

But the first two performances are naft

Btw whats the criteria for singing in Eurovision? Do you have to be an undiscovered artist or something?

Pretty sure you used to have to be, but they seemed to have stopped with that now, had Tatu a few years ago, Bonnie Tyler this year lol, been quite a few others too.

So like, what stops us from asking Adele to do it :P shes apparently really popular.

Edit: Also that "comedy" woman is making me want to drink heavily.

mmo champ fucked for anyone else?

I liked romania rofl and greece was awesome. This norway one seems decent too.

Edit. yeah probably the only thing stopping having someone like Adele is how much shed charge.

I wish they went back to singing in their own languages. Having so many english songs reduces the different countries identies alot.
Also makes alot of the songs so generic/

I think Ireland have my vote, purely for all the half naked hunks dancing around in the background banging those drums.

I did enjoy Malta and Germany, Iceland, Russia and Norway.

Felt this years contest was pretty poor though.

But WTF at Romania.. seriously had to be the most *eurovision* entry this year haha.
