[Movies] The Great Gatsby

Didn't see a thread about this so I'll post one. If one already exists feel free to combine.

Just watched it last night and it was decent. I read the book many many many years ago so I can't recall if it's at all similar but overall the movie was good.

I saw it with a friend and she thought that the beginning was just ridiculously over the top in showing cinematography with colors and expansive sets and choreography while the second half of the movie actually gets into the characters. I completely agree with her and so I believe the second half of the movie is where it really shines while the first half is merely ok but looks very pretty.

I think it was an average movie. I expected a bit more from Di Caprio, but his role is good anyway.
