Yes, i do think it's rape - no means no.
I'm undecided, it's not very clear and it's a large grey area.
No, this isn't rape and the women is ruining the mans life.
I'm not saying that it isn't rape, but if I was a judge I would want to hear Mats story on this, it might have all been a terrible missunderstanding (they where both drunk) and it might end up ruining Maths life.
Call me advocate of the devil, but making 1 drunken mistake isn't shouldn't be enough to ruin someones life.
BUT SHE DID CONSENT. They BOTH made the decision to have sex, for ~5 minutes, from what she's saying. This is what's wrong with our society. Women can have consensual sex, but as soon as she regrets the decision it's rape.
For the record: I'm a woman. I find this behavior despicable.
Depends on the context, words can be interpreted differently depending on the situation. Math was said to be socially akward, and their is always two sides to a story.
Claiming this is rape without hearing the other side of the story is also despicable. This is about someones life and everyone has the right to tell their story.
My stance is that if he heard her say stop and he didn't...rape...but as the story said, she said stop, and he didn't but it only lasted a minute. If he was too drunk and didn't hear her say stop can you blame the guy? Hes not a mind reader...too many unknowns and I don't think there is enough information to pass judgment here.
Stupid women. Ruined that guys life because of something that sounds as if it wasnt actually rape.

I thought rape had to have an element of force to it?
Sounds to me like she said "stop", he didn't think she meant "stop having sex with me" either because he was drunk or half the porn movies have the girl saying "stop" even when she means "go on" (and was drunk), and then stopped when he figured out that she actually meant it.
I'm not sure that is rape.
Well with rape you have to prove force. Did he physically restrain her? Did he not allow her to get up? Was she free to leave at any time?
It's an odd situation. Maybe he didn't hear her clearly right away, maybe he thought she was joking, maybe he thought it was some sort of fetish she had. There's lots of situations that could explain his actions, and lots of information we don't know.
I mean all we know for sure is that they engaged in consensual sex, she asked him to stop, and he eventually did. Whatever happened between the minute that she asked him to stop, and where he eventually did stop, tells us whether or not it's rape.
It is difficult to free fools from the chains they revere.
Depends how she said stop!!!
yelled and screamed stop and he didn't = rape
said it quietly and he didn't hear it = no
drunken slur = iffy but all situational.
If she said stop then did nothing to prevent it, wouldn't say it counts as rape. If she was scramming for her life and he didn't stop for that minute, is rape.
She cried -> man sees tears and stops sex, seems like he did the right thing there, I just doubt whether she really made herself known to be wanting to stop fucking. One can simply say the word no, but actually announcing you want to stop having sex is different
Not a rape. A rape is always terrible and forceful to begin with. Depends really on the country, maybe its rape in west virginia. Here in europe no one would get in jail for this......even real rapers doing terrible things will not be guilty, you need to proof the rape and go to court several times speak with lawers and the guy will still not be guilty this is not as easy as in west virginia what i realy regret.
Need more details, how far did he go in that minute? Cause if not much happened in this 1 minute and both were drunk and she agreed to come with him and he obviously wanted desperatly sex, cause he probably hardly gets some - its understandable that he is trying and his slow reaction happened due to beeing drunk and not taking it too serious, but when she started to cry of course he reacted instantly.
A raper would continue with the rape.
Also that girl was incredible dump to go to the home of a stranger. what does she expect? That was a desperate guy looking for sex. Guess girls i west virginia aren't the smartest ones.
Always the same game - a girl going at home with a stranger, a girl moving into the car of a sranger and so on.....don't do it and stop beeing stupid and careless.
I know a guy who was dating a girl for almost 2 years and during this time he turned 18 and she was still underage. They broke up and she decided to press charges for statutory rape. He spent nearly 3 years in jail and is a felon/registered sex offender for life.
Not the same, I know, but the point is the law is a bit in favor of the girl no matter what.
Guy made a mistake, she acknowledges he was remorseful and felt guilty. No reason to go to court and ruin his life.
