Question I'm new to this -- Please help!

So after spending a good half an hour on a build-your-own computer website, I've come up with this setup:

    CPU: AMD FX-4100 3.60 GHz Quad-Core AM3+ CPU 4MB L2 Cache & Turbo Core Technology [-54]
    HDD: 1TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 32MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Drive)
MEMORY: 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair or Major Brand)
    MOTHERBOARD: [CrossFireX] MSI 970A-G43 AMD 970 Socket AM3+ ATX Mainboard w/ UEFI Bios, OC Genie II, Winki 3, 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, 2 Gen2 PCIe X16, 2 PCIe X1 & 2 PCI [-11]
SOUND: HIGH DEFINITION ON-BOARD 7.1 AUDIO
VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 4GB 16X PCIe Video Card [-31] (Major Brand Powered by NVIDIA)

I have no clue if this is a good or bad set up, probably bad. Can anyone suggest anything better price-performance wise? This current setup is said to be $702 all together with no screen or mouse. (Don't need to worry about a mouse, i do however for the screen.)
Is there anything wrong within this? Would things be incompatible when working with other components?
I'm alright with this price, however I would rather not go higher. Lowering the price would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Yes, I would love to have EVERYTHING for $700 or less.
    Thanks! -Gama

Try this build out for size (it has no OS, though):

Slightly more than your build before Mail-ins (it came out to ~$710), that should knock a ton and be incredible for performance in that price range. Couldn't fit an SSD in there, though, and it has no OS.

EDIT; in theory, you may want to wait two weeks for Haswell and Z87 motherboards, as they're rumored to have a similar pricing tot he current Ivy Bridge CPUs.

Your build op is bad. Learn to build yourself or pay someone kind with a beer to build it.The build above is perfect. Like said, wait for Haswell.

Except for 700.. its still missing an OS (which you noted, and he probably needs) and an monitor.

OP: You DO need an OS and monitor, as well as the system, for $700 right? Maybe filling out the sticky info would help us.

A build my brother built for me, he also made some pretty harsh comments on the above build. Thanks for your help!

...So, what's the partslist used? the link you posted doesn't work for me. Because the only thing I can think of that's mediocre is the absence of an SSD in my build.

The CPU is meh, the GPU will barely play games at all.

Do you need an OS? Do you need the monitor too? You left a lot of stuff out of that list.

This is with OS, but no monitor. Do you already have one?
