New CPU/Mobo Comparison

Upgrading my CPU and Mobo over the next few days and trying to decide what to get!
Deciding between an Intel or an AMD solution

AMD-FX6300 With a Gigabyte-GA-990FXA-UD3
and Intel Wise i5-3570K With a ASRock-Z77

Im wondering if the cost of the Intel parts is worth the extra cost over the AMD parts, any advice would be appreciated greatly

If we are talking gaming at 1080p (and not LoL or similar only) then yes the Intel combo is definitely worth it. You kinda left out your needs.

Haswell + Z87 is also an option:

for sheer gaming and the way better mmorpg performance pick intel.
haswell might be out of reach budget wise but else you could check for people that are upgrading to it to sell their Z77/3570k kit.
