    Asus GPU Tweak Question

    Hey guys.

My computer blew up 2 weeks ago and I finally assembled a new one:

Here are the specs for it:

    I7-3820 @3.6
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO High Performance 4 Heatpipes Cooler
ASUS P9X79 PRO LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with USB BIOS
    16gb G.Skill 1600mhz
    Asus Geforce GTX 670-DC2 Series

    My question is rather simple:

The GPU came with a software called Asus GPU Tweak where it shows GPU Temp, GPU Usage and more...
And it actually lets me overclock it at will.

    GPU Boost Clock (Mhz)
    Starts at 980

    Memory Clock(Mhz)
    Starts at 6009

    And Fan Speed %
    It's on Automatic.

The GPU boost can go up to 1202
And The Memory Clock can go up to 8008

now I would like to know the implication of using such (I haven't yet)
    Is it dangerous?
    Should I use it?
If so how should I use it?

    Anyways thanks for the help.

    Dangerous? no.

Should you use it? If you want

How should you use it? definitely not by cranking it up to the maximum settings (don't do this for voltage btw, as that may break something depending on bios limits.)

The idea of GPU overclocking is to get the most out of your GPU for the money. however, it requires time and testing to find your limit, as not all chips, even of the same model, can overclock to the same degree. So you have to find the max stable clocks for your GPU.

Your best bet is to read, and follow, a overclocking guide like this one
