He's got external HDD, OS, monitor, keyboard, mouse

    MotherBoard: MSI Z87-G43 (http://gear-up.me/motherboard/intel-...i-z87-g43.html )

    HDD: WD Caviar Blue 500GB (http://gear-up.me/storage-devices/ha...00rpm-2rz.html )
Power Supply Unit: 500w Fractal Design 80PLUS Bronze (http://gear-up.me/chassis-and-psu/po...bronze-r2.html )
Case: CM K350 Midi ATX Black Case http://gear-up.me/chassis-and-psu/ch...ck-usb3-0.html )
    Cooler: CM Hyper 212 + Evo (http://gear-up.me/catalog/product/vi...1/category/95/ )

    Total Price: AED3710

Any revisions you guys can suggest or is it looking good?

So my friend Patrick needs a rig. He can shell out AED3500 (1$=3.67AED) and he decided he'll use the website (new one, very convenient for us people living in the UAE) www.gear-up.me

He has a monitor, OS, peripherals, etc etc

He only needs the rig, doesnt need an optical drive even. He says he wants 1920x1080 resolution, he only plays LoL and WoW. He's expecting to almost max out LoL and to play WoW on high settings (doesn't mind tuning them down to medium for 25mans). He's expecting 40+FPS

I have some solutions, what do you guys think

    #1)

    CPU: i5-4670k (http://gear-up.me/processors/intel-c...a1150-vga.html )
    MotherBoard: MSI Z87-G43 (http://gear-up.me/motherboard/intel-...i-z87-g43.html )
    RAM: 2x4GB Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz DDR3 (http://gear-up.me/memory/ddr3/8-gb-o...b-xmp-kit.html)
    Graphics Card: MSI Radeon 7790 1GB GDDR5 OverClocked (http://gear-up.me/msi-r7790-1gd5-oc.html )
    HDD: WD Caviar Blue 500GB (http://gear-up.me/storage-devices/ha...00rpm-2rz.html )
    Power Supply Unit: (http://gear-up.me/chassis-and-psu/po...lk-atx-22.html )
Case: Evolveo K4 Midi ATX Black Case (http://gear-up.me/chassis-and-psu/ch...20-mm-fan.html )
    Cooler: CM Hyper 212 + Evo (http://gear-up.me/catalog/product/vi...1/category/95/ )

    Total Price: AED3501

    #2)
    CPU: Intel i5-4670 (http://gear-up.me/processors/intel-c...a1150-vga.html)
    GPU: ASUS 7850 DC2 2GB(http://gear-up.me/graphics-card/pci-...2-2gd5-v2.html )
    RAM: 2x4GB (total 8GB) DDR3 1600Mhz Kingston HyperX BLU XMP (http://gear-up.me/memory/ddr3/8-gb-o...b-xmp-kit.html)
    HDD: WD Caviar Blue 500GB (http://gear-up.me/storage-devices/ha...00rpm-2rz.html )
    MoBo: ASUS B85-PLUS (http://gear-up.me/motherboard/intel-...-b85-plus.html)
    PSU: (http://gear-up.me/chassis-and-psu/po...lk-atx-22.html )
Case: Evolveo K4 Midi ATX Black Case (http://gear-up.me/chassis-and-psu/ch...20-mm-fan.html )

    Price: AED3449

He doesn't mind overclocking or not overclocking. Nothing has to be aesthetically appealing. He just wants performance and he won't be upgrading soon.

For Build #2 should the GPU be improved to a 7870 and the case knocked down to something just a bit less expensive?

He could go with this and it'd be enough for his needs! Still have $125 to play around with so he could upgrade the GPU or (more then likely) add a small SSD for his OS and maybe a game

Wouldve been great if those prices and parts existed on the site I linked
    Thanks for the attempt, though

    Sorry, mate.

If anything have your buddy drop to a Z77 board and a i5-3570k processor. Haswell is having some heating issues and marginal performance.

Try finding a 7200 RPM HDD and if 500GB is as high as he can go look for a 7200 RPM one since 5400 RPM are slower and will have longer-ish load times between dungeons and matches. A 7850 is a good card and I believe can be unlocked to perform at a 7870's performance (might be select models though).

Yeah, I'm not sure why they don't have -the- most popular CPU on there, but that's the case regardless. This is probably one of the few situations I'd recommend the 4670K

I'd go with #1. The 7850 has higher top/average fps by a little, however the 7790 has the same minimum, which I think is more important. I'm assuming the 7850 is more expensive.

I'd PREFER a 650 Ti Boost, or a 660, however I didn't see the boost on the website, and the 660's seem considerably more expensive. With a system like that, and that kind of money being spent, I'd probably just go with #1 as is... And upgrade the video card to a 760 some time next year, or whatever is around the ~850 AED mark at that time.

Gah, it's been a long day. I was trying to go off memory. I think I was thinking about the green series. Sorry about that.

I think one of the main things that would need to be evaluated is this:

-Knocking down the 7850 to the 7970 here: http://gear-up.me/msi-r7790-1gd5-oc.html would save AED165
-This AED 165 can be set to either
    a. Better Cooler
    b. Better MoBo (Although keep it MSI, I think he really wants the OC Genie feature)

I would change the gpu to a 650 ti boost. I think its is better or on par with the 7850, but cheaper

What does better for WoW and LoL @ 1080p, 650Ti Boost (192) 2GB VRAM or the 1GB OC Gigabyte 7850

In my opinion you should try and stretch to a GTX 660 it just a far better card than either and if you plan on not overclocking that much you should just get a locked Ivy bridge CPU with a B75 chipset something like an i5 3450 and an MSI B75E33 would be a great choice.

The 650 Ti Boost wins at 1680x1050 in WoW and the 7850 pulls ahead at 1920x1200. 1920x1080 is about halfway in between these two resolutions (if comparing number of pixels).

Definitely go with the 650 Ti Boost if your friend's going to be playing games where it can break even or pull ahead in since its quite a bit cheaper.

Change the PSU and save some money:

    SOURCE ARCTIC COOLING FUSION 550

Change the GPU to this, save some money and 2GB memory:

    MSI GTX 650ti Boost 2GB

Then there is room for for a better performing HDD (since there is no SSD):

    Wester Digital Caviar Black 500GB

Okay, I was just worried because its from 2009 but I'll trust you

Do you know if the cables on that will be enough for the MidiTower K350 case?

650 ti Boost and 650ti are two entirely different cards. 2GB model of ti Boost is better value for money than Radeon 7850 1GB model.
