    My idea on how to fix racial imbalance.

    Now firstly this thread is going to contain opinions that come from an alliance point of view and reflect that accordingly.

    This thread was in responce to the decline in alliance raiding topic brought up but I wanted a poll for results.

    So a lot of players mentioned that the appeal of the horde lies in their racials and the 1% dmg buff for min/maxers.

    So I have made an updated list of racials to attract people towards the alliance with the idea of be powerfull but not overly so.

    Alliance

    Dwarf

    [Stoneform]
    [Crack Shot] Damage dealt by ranged weapons increased by 1% *
    [Mace Specialization] Damage dealt by Maces and two handed maces increased by 1% *
    [Frost Resistance]
    [Explorer]

    Gnome

    [Escape Artist]
    [Quick Thinking] Mana pool increased by 5%, your offensive spells have a 4% chance to grant you 10% bonus haste.(40 sec internal cooldown)
    [Arcane Resistance]
    [Engineering Specialization]
    [Shortblade Specialization] Increases your hit chance with daggers and 1h swords by 3% *

    Human

    [Every Man for Himself]
    [Diplomacy]
    [The Human Spirit] Spirit increased by 3%, chance on ability to make next ability cost no rescource.
    [Mace Specialization] Damage dealt by Maces and two handed maces increased by 1% *
    [Sword Specialization] Damage dealt by Swords and two handed swords increased by 1% *

    Night elf

    [Shadowmeld]
    [Quickness]

    The idea is to draw people back to the alliance and then once the numbers are in an even distribution remove the racials.

    As said on another thread from a member of dread, "if you removed racials in the morning guilds would remain horde as there would be no reason to become alliance".

    so we need to bring some of the guilds back to alliance to even the numbers, and how do we do that.

    By giving the alliance racials a boost to get some of the horde guilds to return to the alliance.

    Making the racial bonuses more appealing is one thing, your changes would create even bigger par between the racial bonuses than there is today.

    would be better to scrap all racial abilities and allow you to choose 2 or 3 when you start a character on either faction.

    *1 Damage/Heal boosting ability
    *1 Utility (speed increase, quicker herb pick)
    *1 Rep boost/Element Resistance

    Perhaps but I don't think so, these changes would create appeal from guilds which were alliance and moved horde to rejoin alliance.
    Some guilds in the top 50 will always stay horde and have said that much.
    So the idea is to over buff the alliance racials and once the numbers stabilize then fix all racials.

    Guilds have transferred to cheat a lockout.
    They will happily do that if the racials are superior, and then back again once the racials are reverted.
    That solves nothing in the end.

    The nearest there is to a solution is to reduce the gap between them on a permanent basis.
    Rather than the alliance being primarily defensive, and the horde primarily offensive racials, mix them up a bit or perhaps even offer a bit of both for every race.

    This won't solve the problem tho, We have had people from top guilds say that if racials were taken away in the morning they would stay horde and because they are horde the majority of hardcore raiders would have to be horde to recruit to or from these guilds.

    This has been said.

    So we need to get them coming back to the alliance first before we remove racials as that will just cement them staying horde.

    over buffing one factions racial bonuses to lure people to another faction is pretty darn stupid, bringing them on par is what they should strive for and not forcing people to spend 15-30£ to min max their characters.

    So your solution is to draw everyone to the alliance with overpowered racials and then to remove racials? Why will the horde guilds who go alliance go back to horde then? See the problem here?

    Racials need a revamp, sure, but your solution is ill-suited.

    Ok so people wish for racials to be removed and for another system to be put in place to restore the balance but no one if offering any answer's or ideas on how to achieve that goal. At least the racial buffing idea would get people back to alliance.

    So please I would love to hear your ideas on getting people back to balance out the raid scene.

    Remove all racials and let them play whichever they prefer? If they prefer Horde they will play that. If they prefer Alliance they will play that. I don't see any valid reason to make either more attractive over the other in terms of how viable they are.

    Buffing Alliance racials to get heroic raiders to switch to Alliance is no different from them switching from Alliance to Horde in the first place, it doesn't solve anything, just recreates the problem.

    agree with this. racials should represent a RP aspect of the game and not game changers.
