Action games like inFamous, Uncharted, The Last of Us are my favourite. I guess those are 3rd Person Shooters too.

Action RPG
Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Kingdoms of Amalur, the Witcher, Dark Souls, KOTOR
1. Rpg
2. Fps
3. Rts
Platformers, whether it be Mario, Kirby or Metroid.
RPGs hit in at a second place with the old overhead-view LoZ games, Pokémon and Earthbound-like games.
I like RPGs, RTSs and City Building Simulators the most. Can't decide which I like most though.
RPG as the base genre with other genres tied in. Mass Effect, SWTOR, Dragon Age, Halo (to a certain extent), Deus Ex, the new Tomb Raider, Crysis, and many others.

RTS' probably. I like RPGs too.
Well it's a tie between RPGs and ARPGs for me
1. (A)RTS like Dota and Starcraft
2. RPGs
Has got to be RPG, followed closely by Strategy games. Those two I immensely enjoy and have played more of than I can remember. Any RPG subgenre will pretty much do, cRPG, MMORPG, aRPG. Whether it's Torchlight or Guild Wars 2, sign me up!
Most games are incorporating RPG elements into their systems nowadays. While they are better defined as their own genres such as FPS for Halo or Action Adventure for Tomb Raider, they can still be considered under an RPG sub-genre simply due to the worlds they create and the freedom to evolve your character.
Actually nevermind, Halo is in no way shape or form an RPG. But it can certainly be argued if Deus Ex is or not.
