I thought they fixed loot specialization?

Just did a HC Scenario and got a lovely 516 sword, I thought they fixed it so as assassination you didn't get swords/axes/maces? Is this a bug or just lazy programming?

Same discussion going in this thread http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...-daggers-right

Apparently scenario boxes don't respect the loot specialization.

I think the loot spec only applies to raids. Maybe dungeons as well?? I haven't run one in forever though so I'm not sure.
I got an axe from a h scenario though so it's not just you.

Loot specialisation isn't fixed unless you categorise daggers as combat spec, got pretty much bis pieces from all our farm bosses except iron qon heroic and only need items off dark animus hc and ra-den, so I been building up bad loot protection up every week for iron qon rolls, bonus rolled it with 3 bad rolls in a row but as combat specialisation as I already have 2 hc tf daggers, what did it give me? A heroic dagger....

Put in a ticket not exepcting much obviously hehe, they told me they will look into it but there is nothing they can do about it, not even take the dagger out of my inv and restore my bad luck protection which is what I asked. :P

    From patch notes

Players can now choose to receive loot for specializations other than the one that's currently active. This feature can be accessed by right-clicking on the character portrait and selecting the option from the drop-down list. Loot specialization is available for bonus rolls, Raid Finder, and Pandarian quest rewards.

So while I understand your frustration, and I mean no large offense (a little maybe, but not large!!) don't go claiming things are broke before you take a little look into how it is supposed to work

That makes so sense, this topic is about loot specialisation for rogues not working, granted scenarios aren't categorised in that but not sure how he was supposed to know unless he read the patch notes, like I stated above, combat rogue specialisation getting daggers really shouldn't happen, granted there viable in offhand but there not typically combat weapons ever since vanilla as we had sword/mace specialisation talents back then.

Bad luck protection only protects you from not getting loot. It won't prevent you from getting undesired loot.

Makes perfect sense, the item he got from the scenario was one a rogue can use, and had nothing to do with loot specialization. If rogues could not use swords period, then loot allocation is messed up, but to expect something spec specific, from a drop that does not give spec specific items, that is where the problem is...

I thought the caches you got acted like a bonus roll when opened (Hence why they can be exploited so easily). Ty for the replies though.

Loot specialization does not apply to scenario's.

So a Fury warrior could get a shield, a holy paladin a two-hander? The rogue business is extremely annoying but for other classes, this could be...well, just awful.

There was a blue post saying why they did not apply to scenarios and dungeons (heroic/reg). Essentially it is because you can run multiple ones in a day to eventually get that piece, whereas raids you are limited to 1 (2 with bonus roll) a week.

Loot specialization does not apply to containers. Meaning Heroic Scenario chests and Gold Bags in Throne of Thunder will not go by loot spec so you can get loot awarded to any spec.

I've had tank gear awarded when I have ret or holy set.

I remember that but it seems fairly nonsensical when applied to heroic caches which, as far as I know, you can only get once per day (OK, twice if you could the challenges but those are so hard to get involved in for most of us...)

Is that true? Well that sounds horrible, as chance to get anything from box is almost 0% already, and if it doesn't take into account loot specialization, for classes with multiple roles it will take much longer than eternity to get even 1 item for wanted spec. It isn't like I got anything from scenario gold-bag since it was introduced (except form 1-time quest), neither 2 of my friends with whom I was running them...

Bit Off-topic but, while they r at fixing that, they should fix the Latent Kor`Kron items, i made 3 for my BLOOD dk, while in blood spec, made 3 items...hit, hit/crit and haste
"an item USEFUL for your class specialization" or does hit, crit and haste count as tank stats these days?

They often do. Crit being a tank stat for DKs seems off, but it is "a tank stat" - bears and BM monks take crit, pallies LOVE haste, and all tanks can use hit/expertise. No secondary is never a tank stat anymore.

The same could be said for stat priorities for some classes, but any stat you can use is considered "useful" atm - you won't get defensive stats (dodge/parry, specifically) as DPS/healer, but that's about it.

Seems strange to me. I did hc scenarios on my monk, the two times I had my mistweaver spec selected I got intellect leather, and when I had brewmaster selected I got agility leather instead. It might have been a coincidence, but it seems to be a pretty lucky one.

Not sure, but I've gotten about 8 pieces of loot from the HC Scenario boxes on my Shaman, ALL of them have been Intellect loot and I always had Elemental as my Loot spec.

I think it's just a bug regarding weapons where if if the weapon has your current loot spec primary stat(Agi for Rogues all around), you can get it.

Wow I received the freebie 516 piece for the initial quest, and have got nothing but gold in every other subsequent box since then.. I wish i had your loot problems.
