That's pretty hilarious, I've heard of people being warned and fined for making dumb 911 calls before but for nothing like this.

Funny story. The guy is a dumbass though. It's sorta like calling the cops to report that your drug dealer shorted you. Of course, a lot of these stories end a lot worse (like when the guy decides to take matters into his own hands). So at least this one had a better ending.

I can't link any of them (been a while since I've read most of them), but I've heard quite a few stories here about people misusing 911. I remember reading one about a guy who called because Domino's Pizza got his order wrong. I also remember reading one about a couple of drug dealers in a car discussing their business. Somehow, one of them "butt dialed" 911, and they didn't realize it. So the 911 operator was listening in/recording their entire conversation. They were pretty shocked when a few cop cars suddenly pulled in around them with blue lights flashing.

no, but a similar case was recently in the news in the US when a guy in texas shot and killed an escort after she refused to have sex with him. he got off free through a legal loophole.

I find it rather pathetic, not funny really.

I know a few friends who've been in, plan to be in, or are in the Police Force, and the amount of stupid calls they get is insane. Calls for dumb trivial shit that no-one cares about, such as the Garbage Men not closing the lid on the bin properly, or the postman bending a letter to fit it into the mailbox.

When people phone up about these things, I'd genuinely hit them hard with a fine. £1,000. If it was a genuine mistake, a false alarm, that is cool, but to call up about your Tomato Ketchup being in the Cupboard rather then the Fridge, then hell, I wanna beat that £1,000 out of you myself.

I know a woman that calls the police on her 5 year old son, this is the same little shit that chases people with kitchen knives in our own street. He smashes car windows for fun and gets away with it.

Just recently here in Florida, a guy accidentally butt-dialed 911 and discussed a murder plot.

Of similar note, on the TV show Cops, they had a guy wave down a cop-car because his dealer took the $20 and didn't give him his drugs.

Saw this, my friend lives in Solihull and I think it's brilliant. It's reassurance whenever you're feeling a bit dumb, that there is someone far more stupid than you. As in, there's a difference between being dropped as a baby and being beaten with a lead pipe as a baby, and you're certainly not in the same category.

I love things like this unless they're an old person and it doesn't involve drugs, then I just feel sorry for them. The old woman in germany who got done for growing weed because she found that it was her rabbits favourite food, I found funny but then if it was something else... meh

This is almost as bad as that woman who called 911 because a McDonald's (IIRC) got her order wrong.

Elderly people call 911 all the time down here in Florida and request paramedic services to screw in light bulbs, get stuff on high shelves, just for company, etc...
