Just another crazy thought but what if you could practice your heals per second on a training dummy/dummies the way dps practice on Dummies. This would also be available from level 10-90 for anyone new wanting to find their healing.
Where and How:
It would take place in a building inside your capital (Stormwind: Cathedral Medical wing/Orgrimmar: Valley of the Spirits Healing Tent) and a healer could que up for a medical shift to take care of soliders fresh from the front lines. Similar to the Triage quest in Arathi Basin you would have to heal as many soldiers as possible within the time limit only this time instead of Bandages you would be using your own spells .
Emergency Room: Raid Healing
“The ER is filed up doctor, and they just keep coming… War is hell….! MEDIC!!.”
The reason you would have to que would be so the UI could put you in a raid group to practice raid healing on all of the soliders/NPCs qued with you whose health is falling and dropping. Patients health would be at 75% and slowly falling. Mana Management, Raid health pools and when to blow cooldowns would all be tested with the rise and fall of the patients health pools.
Operating Room: Single Target Healing
“Get that Axe out of his chest and prep the Patient for the O.R. STAT!!”
Those working on single target heals per second could que up for intensive surgery where the damage is more spikey but rotations could be found. Also knowing when to blow cooldowns is an important skill to flex with the rise in raid difficulty.
Remember this is mostly to measure the amount of heals per second you are capable of in a fixed position to evaluate the quality of you gear with your skill level. I know a proving ground is in the works already but seeing as how you have to be level 90 just to use it maybe this could be an alternative.
If nothing else I'm just bored so I made this up in my spare time. Still unfinished.
