Wink Need some help. I'm a full time college student on a budget.

I want to make a gaming computer, like a lot of others. I don't play graphic demanding games like BF3 or Skyrim. I play WoW, LoL, ETC. I wanted to know what Motherboard, amount of RAM, what processor, ETC I would need to make a computer that can run games like that on the best graphics. I'm a full time student so I can't spend a ridiculous amount of cash. Thanks (:

We'll need a budget other than "I can't spend a ridiculous amount". Preferably a specific budget.

I have $800 to freely spend, but if possible I would like to spend under $500 if possible.
I have a monitor already by the way.

Under 500 wont happen. Do you do raiding in WoW? Pretty much, if your budget is up to 800, you'll get a quote for 800.

Under $500 isn't really going to happen Not unless you want the game running "meh" at best. This will run WoW great at ultra. Sub $500 budget would require you to drop the GPU entirely and go with a 3220/b75 board. Which is far from ideal and wouldn't run WoW very well at lowest settings (as it'd be running off the iGPU).

If you dont need an OS, Harddrive, case, or all of the above, they can be shaved off and potentially put an SSD in their place.

Uh, no. You can get a 3220 for the same price. Which is a newer and more powerful CPU.

Also, 550TI? You can get a 650 TI cheaper and it's...better. Especially for WoW with DX11.

One memory module, lack of a aftermarket cooler on a K CPU (can't overclock without something other than the box processor, otherwise you might aswell get a 4570). Could get a 650 TI boost instead of a 660 and grab an aftermarket cooler.

Seriously? a i7 on a $800 budget? An I7 has no performance game in games, let alone in WoW or LoL. Also, a B85 board with a K series CPU? You can't overclock with B series motherboards.

Again, only one memory module..and a 6770? Not only did you throw an older GPU in there, but you put a low end gaming GPU...

I do have a case, and I do have a couple hard drives. I do not have a OP tho.

I would not recommend any of these systems, for a number of reasons on each of them. None of them have the OS, either.

Is it a case you're willing to reuse (thus rendering your old system without one)
What model hard drives are they? Sometimes it may be worth just getting a new one, if they're some old 80gb IDE drive or something.

If you can reuse the case, and the current drives are fine for storage, that system right there is a choice cut of angus.

I have a Apevia mid tower case back at home.
Do I need to get something different?
And my buddy is giving me some extra hard drives that he has from his gaming PC.
    So I don't think they'll be bad.

That's fine. Aslong as the case can fit everything (if it's a mid tower it should) it'll be fine. The harddrives i'd imagine will be fine. even some 5400 RPM or 7200 RPM drives will do as they'll only be used for media storage. Games and the OS will go on the SSD.
