what do you think of my idea?

The two "capitals" of an expansion are on the opposite side of one map. They are big towns with interactive buildings in front of it. You have to gather resources in order to launch an assault on the opposite base:

Farm (Druid Guardian (worgen/tauren)): You have to grow and harvest plants on the local farm or hunt wildlife npcs in order to provide food (limit of 500: each time a player dies one food is used).

Lumber Mill (Ranger Guardian (nightelf/bloodelf)): You have to cut woods (and they regrow after each attempt): Provides 4 Glaive Throwers each attack (not a vehicle).

Siege Factory (Tinkerer Guardian (gnome/goblin)): You have to collect ores from nearby mines (carts you have to get to the base): Provides 4 Siege Tanks each attack (not a vehicle). Provides 10 rocket launchers each defense.

Barracks (Paladin Guardian (Draenei)/Deathknight Guardian (Undead)): You have to recruit civilians in the city for the next assault. Provides a ground army in front of your commander (see later)

Air Fields (Gryphon Master (Dwarf)/Bat Rider (Troll): You have to train Gryphons/Bats flying: Provides 10 of those which can be used to AoE bomb from the sky (Siege Damage to defensive buildings such as walls and towers as well as aoe damage to players on the ground – can be killed by rocket launchers) (not a vehicle).

Keep (Warrior General (Human/Orc)): Hosting the General and the 5 Guardians at the beginning.

Attacking Force:

Your factions assault army brings siege weapons (tanks and glaives as well as bat/gryphon riders) along that destroy the gates and the towers, which would otherwise would have killed your attempt by just rushing the base. The towers focus on the siege weapons first and take some time to kill them (when a siege weapon is not attacked by enemy players the towers should do about 60% damage to the siege weapons before the towers are destroyed).

On your assault you take the Guardian with you that you have collected all resources first for. In addition you have your siege weapons. The siege weapons should be defended until the enemies defensive towers and gates are destroyed. When they are destroyed first the assault is over.

By the time the defense structures are destroyed your Guardian shows up supporting you in your attempt to assault the city. You have to make your way through enemy players (and npcs depending on the number of enemies you face) Until you reach one of the above mentioned buildings: You have to capture them by klicking 4 and holding 4 flags for roughly 2-3 minutes. Then you have assaulted the building and the respective Guardian of the opposite team shows up (10 man style encounter). Upon his death you can loot about 20% of the enemy factions resources gained at that point. When you have the counter guardian with you (meaning lumber mill vs. Lumber mill) you can loot about 40% of the resources gained.

In the mean time a group of your assault team has to defend your Guardian as the time he dies the siege is over, too.

When all 5 Guardians are dead you can securely enter the keep with your guardian and attempt to kill the General. You'd have to defend the guardian and your raid against enemy players however the General will attack your Guardian only when there are no players around anymore.

Defensive Force:

When the opposite faction begins its assault you get a warning when you are in the main zone. Your goal is to stop them before they take over the town.

You can achieve this by focussing fire on the siege weapons, before they enter the city, by wiping out the enemy players (limited food) or by killing their guardian while they are in the city. The defensive force has no limited food and hence unlimited respawns.

In between the fights: Buffs and Peaks.

Whenever you are able to destroy one of your enemies buildings you recieve a buff dependant on the building. The buff is active on the whole continent and lasts until your respective building is destroyed (but is inactive during fights): These buffs however only work in the world and not in instanced areas such as dungeons, scenarios, raids, arenas or bgs.

Farm: „Well Fed“ Buff unlimited time same amount like buff food
Lumber Mill: Your gathering speed is increased to 0.5s. In addition you have a chance to recieve extra points while gathering.
Siege Factory: Your crafting speed is increased by 50%. In addition you have a chance to recieve extra points while crafting.
Barracks: Your repuation gained is increased by 20%.
Air Fields: Your movement speed (by foot and mounted) is increased by 20%.
Keep: Your experience gained is increased by 10%.

All buildings up: Your primary attributes are increased by 15%.

Additional Peak: Reputation/Ranking.

On X amount of kills you gain title X (similar to vanilla honor system). These titles are cosmetic and functional: While the battle of the cities is inactive you gain up to 4 supporting battle npc companions the companions are related to your rank: Ranger, Paladin/Deathknight, Warrior, Druid

On your 1. rank („friendly“) you can choose one you'll reach it by killing enemy players (gains you x amount of „rep“). Being killed by an enemy player makes you lose x/4 amount of rep.

On your 2. rank („honored“) you can choose two. you'll reach it by killing enemy players (gains you x amount of „rep“). Being killed by an enemy player makes you lose x/3 amount of rep.

On your 3. rank („revered“) you can choose three. you'll reach it by killing enemy players (gains you x amount of „rep“). Being killed by an enemy player makes you lose x/2 amount of rep.

On your 4. rank („exalted“ / „General“) you can pick all 4. you'll reach it by killing enemy players (gains you x amount of „rep“). Being killed by an enemy player makes you lose x amount of rep. After having the exalted rank however you can't drop below it anymore.
