What do you guys think about this idea I had...Instead of gem sockets having pre-determined socket bonuses, you gained bonuses based on what you gemmed?

They could have little mini procs on certain combos (like triple haste in one item gives a 5% chance to cast a spell faster or something)

They could be flat bonuses as well, for both lower socket amounts or for higher, depending on how balanced they could be.

Ex. 3x strength gems would give extra strength, or another stat. It would definitely have to be worked out a little more, but you get the point.


What do you all think?


Overall we were trying with gems to go the opposite direction with enchants. Enchants = pretty much one option per piece. (Source)
Gems = so many options! Not sure either system is super awesome though. We have some ideas for the future.
