Thanks to everyone that helped me out. I am planning on eventually adding in a video card, overclocking the cpu and adding a cpu cooler, an ssd and a 2nd monitor but for now I am super pumped!

I'd go insane with such a small monitor. You went with a lot lower performing components compared to what was discussed in your build threads (well mainly CPU/motherboard/monitor).

yea I decided I didn't want to wait lol so I found this build and did some research on it. From what I found this will be able to handle most games on medium / high settings, even games like bf3 and farcry on medium.

The CPU somewhat weak unfortunately, should have used your old thread(s) to get something optimized before ordering. As for that guy on Youtube, yes overall he has decent advice but he is definitely also wrong on some points, may be lacking some knowledge here and there.

I wouldn't say BF3 with just the APU is playable at 1080p, we are talking like 16-20fps on low settings. If you use an APU like that with no GPU you will also want much faster RAM.

yea I admit that I got impatient and just wanted to order it. All I care about really is if it will play wow pretty much maxed out and some other semi new games like rift, cod, dayz, stuff like that. I am probably going to get a video card after the weekend. Will the system be able to handle those games maxed out?

I dont think that it will max out wow tbh. It will play rift and those games but on low most likely.

Probaly not maxed. You will have a hard time in WoW even with a dedicated GPU.

With the 650ti Boost you can probably run medium/high settings and get decent performance.

A $110 Intel Core i3-3220 3.3GHz paired with a $50 ASRock B75M-DGS R2.0 and a dedicated GPU like the one mentioned would yield you much better performance. Any way you can cancel your order or return the CPU+motherboard at least? The rest of the system is decent enough.

i dont think i can cancel the order because the case already shipped. If I were to send back the cpu and mother board unopened do you think that newegg would accept that? I have never tried to do a return with them but I would think that they would take an unopened product.

If I am able to do the return, I think I am going to get the following parts and hopefully that will be a solid computer.

the reason for the asrock pro3 is that I eventually want to upgrade to a 3570k and this way I won't have to get a new motherboard as well.

I am going to get a better and bigger monitor at some point because I want to do 2 monitors and I will most likely get a 23 or 24 inch one

Yes you can easily return it, especially when it's not even opened up. I'd still recommend you getting the 2GB version of the 650ti Boost if you can?

With the 650ti Boost you can probably run medium/high settings and get decent performance.

A 650 TI boost should run ultra fine sans MSAA. It really comes down to the CPU beyond that.

Do you guys think that would be a good idea and what kind of performance increase (looking for a rough % if possible) would I get on the games I listed. I do live by a microcenter (I live in the chicago suburbs) so I can get a pretty good deal on the following setup. I am still planning on getting the 2gb 650ti boost, unless it will bottleneck the processor significantly. I saw that in Marest's builds he made on with a 3570k and 660ti boost. what is the current gen equivilant of a 660ti?

1) Without overclocking, i'd say you're looking at a 20% upgrade. With overclocking (assuming 4.5ghz) you're probably looking at a 100% or more upgrade in 25 man raids in WoW. Increases over the 3220 will depend on the game. In RIFT i'd say you'd be looking at the same increases as WoW depending on the situation. Perhaps more. Just make sure you get an aftermarket cooler like the Coolermaster evo 212.

2) the 760, i'd say. though it really depends on your budget. I'd honestly never recommend a 660 TI but i would recommend a 760.

Just make sure if you upgrade to a 3570k that you overclock it. Nothing provides a bigger performance increase in MMO's like WoW and Rift than overclocking your CPU.
