    Decent USB audio device?

Anyone have a recommendation for a USB audio device? The system in question is a little XPC with no room for a PCI audio card. The problem is that the headphone jack at the front of the computer has some interference causing crackling. Currently the headphones being used are plugged into the speaker jack in the back. However, the mic jack is still in the front making it hard to use many headsets that dont have that much play in the cables. So I was thinking a decent solution would be a USB audio device, however it's been some time since I looked into such things.

One caveat, I am biased against Creative Labs due to their poor driver support.

I've been shown this in the past as a good USB audio solution.
