TBC and WotLK imo. Vanilla were okay, specifically Paladin T2 and Warrior T3.

I really liked the cataclysmic PvP set for paladins. I also really liked the Udluar sets for paladins.

Yeah, it's not like Hunter T6 is the worst set any class has had in any expansion. Oh wait, it is :l

Doesn't even make sense thematically, the gronn is in T4 content and the T4 set stalking demons would have made perfect sense for T6... ah well grumble grumble

    T6 hunter is amazing....

And it doesn't matter because they weren't NECESSARILY making the tier sets back then based on raid themes.

I think the Burning Crusade had some really epic tier sets.
Although, I love the Classic and early WotLK tier sets as well

I'm really partial to T6... My priests 8/8 T6 is among my most prized possessions. Priest's T5 is quite good too and has aged better than most, and their Tier 4 was really great too. Warlock Season 2 is my favorite PvP set of all time, and Paladin Season 2 gets an honorable mention. BC also has tons and tons of off-set items worthy of x-mog, especially weapons, not to mention those iconic warglaives.

Wrath would come in 2nd easily. MoP sets all around are very good, high quality sets but in comparison to BC or WotLK I hate to say they come across as uninspired to me. The Rogue Tyrannical set makes me look like Shredder and when I saw it I knew I had to have it, but other than that I haven't seen any sets that have come across as visually distinctive enough to leave a real impact on me the way that say the Season 2 Paladin set did once. Ironically one of the few pieces to have that kind of flair in my view is the Replica Shado-Pan Helmet, a transmog-only piece.

TBC was the best period, and the tier sets were no exception. I love the T6 set for pretty much every class they were amazing.

    Ahem. Warrior T2.5:

TBC and its not about nostalgia. T5 warlock was amazing, T6 priest on female undead probbably best set ingame to this day. T6 warrior and many more.

I liked all tier sets for shamans. I can't really say which expansion had the best. I didn't really raid during Cata and I think I am kinda biased because I was far more attached to the tier sets during TBC for obvious reasons (more 'exclusive'/rare).

I have to say the T6 set for warriors is still my favorite combined with Bulwark of Azzinoth but I am also a big fan of shaman T5 and dualwielding Claw of Molten Fury and Fist of Molten Fury and shaman T6.

Shaman T6 is also spacey but I liked it a lot more than shaman T10 which was some nature shit in an undead raid. Only the animation was nice.

I'm sure people who didn't play back then or don't agree are going to call this nostalgia again because we can't like something that's old and outdated .

    This is pretty epic tbh.

Cm gear for warrior/dk/pally/rogue/lock , and some t14/t15/16 sets from both lfr and normal are prob the coolest looking sets in this game. For example:
Rf dk hunter lock/norm pally for t14.
Rf hunter warrior (golden one) rogue pally lock mage + any shaman color for t15.
Rogue dk (-head) warrior (rf and hc ones) for t16.
T1 and 2 mostly meh, 3 was awesome (although the bmah one should be class restricted) and so were 5 7 8 10 11 12 and 13 except for the rogue/druid heads for 11 12 and 13 and lock's t11 head. T4 wasn't that bad except for the hunter/rogue. 6 same as 4 minus rogue/hunter/lock/druid.
    Inb4 , voted mists.

Depends on the class. Vanilla and TBC had the most iconic sets, but they didn't have to try and look different from older sets because there weren't any. I am a fan of some recent sets, but usually only 1-2 sets per tier, and usually from classes I don't play

Cata and mop have been by far the worst. And from the model previews on the front page id say things probably are not going to get any better some awful looking stuff... i know its not all of it but still

transmog gave them an excuse to be lazy...and its shown

Paladin Tier 6, still the best.

Paladin Tier 5, still the worst :P .

    TBC without question!

That's the answer for every, "Which expansion had the best, ___________?"
