Characters gone?

So last time I played the game was few months before the new "expansion" and I was already f2p player (although I pre-purchased CE edition and was subbed for 2 months or so) - I had one Sith Sorcerer on level 47 and several other characters (around level 20).

Today - I reinstall the game, update it, log in to my old server and - what? No characters, no legacy, no unlocks and not even my cartel coins back - can somebody explain, I'm really kinda ... angry to be honest.

Does your account show any characters on other servers?

No. I had to create a character and then activate it, but when I looked for the other there was no sign of them, anywhere.

I'd try the SWTOR forums.

Also, there was the "email vs. display name" thing a while back; really not too sure what to suggest.

Well SWTOR doesn't delete any characters so I'd suggest fighting through the support.
