    Greetings,

im going to buy a new video card seeing as my current one is somewhat outdated and, according to windows it is the "weakest" hardware.
my goal is, to buy a new one for up to ~100 Euro so i can keep my current computer for another year or two.
(using the computer for gaming, which should work as fluent as possible)

I used HFiNFO64 to gain the following information of my hardware:

    Central Processor(s)

Number Of Processor Packages (Physical): 1
    Number Of Processors Cores: 6
    Number Of Logical Processors: 6

    AMD Phenom II X6 1055T

Processor Name: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
    Original Processor Frequency: 2800.0 MHz
    Original Processor Frequency [MHz]: 2800

    Motherboard

    Motherboard Model: ASUS M4N68T-M-LE-V2
    Motherboard Chipset: nVidia MCP61

    Memory

    Row: 0 - 4096 MB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM
    Row: 1 - 4096 MB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM

    Video Card

Video Chipset: ATI Radeon HD 5570/6510 (REDWOOD PRO MVD)
Video Memory: 2048 MBytes of DDR3 SDRAM
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 5570
    Video Bus: PCIe v2.0 x16 (2.5 Gb/s) @ x16 (2.5 Gb/s)
    [Performance]
    Processor Clock: 157.0 MHz
Memory Clock: 300.0 MHz (Effective 599.9 MHz)
    Memory Bus Width: 128-bit
    Number Of Pixel Pipelines: 16
    Number Of Unified Shaders: 400

any helpful recommendations would be very appreciated

There are only 3 cards to consider in that price segment.

    • AMD Radeon 7770 (~90€)
    • Nvidia GTX 650 Ti (~95€, 9% faster than 7770)
    • AMD Radeon 7790 (~110€, 27% faster than 7770, 17% faster than GTX 650 Ti)

I would go for the Nvidia.

    Which games, what resolution?

100 € budget is too low. That is HD7770 or GTX 650 regions. It will be an upgrade for sure, but I feel you could potentially be getting more extra FPS for the money if you spent/saved more

Not sure why you'd recommend the 650 TI when even you said that the 7790 is 17% faster.

Really, theres no overly good reason to buy any of those cards when the 650 TI boost isn't much over that budget, and is significantly better than any of them.

Guess I have had just enough trouble with AMD in the last years not to recommend them anymore (esp. drivers, insane coil whine and overheating VRMs - several cards).

    Also the 7790 is 10% >budget, 650 Ti Boost 30%.

well 10% >budget is still fine and no problem.

if you say i can get much better models with only a few more euros aswell, this is also fine^^

so the amd radeon 7790 you say is a good one? or are there way better ones for only a few more euros available?

i really have no clue when it comes to video cards and their market value xD

what is most important for me is, that it works as smooth as possible (no overheating issues at best) and will potentially be an "okay"-card for the next 1-2 years^^

Well, where do you live? I generally would recommend a 650 TI boost, because it's quite a bit better than the 7790, for relatively the same price. But that price is going to depend on your location

    found a "Asus GTX 650 GTX650-E-1GD5 1GB PCIe DVI/VGA/HDMI - Retail" for 95-100 Euro
    and
    "Sapphire Radeon HD 7790 Dual-X-OC 1GB DDR5 PCIe 2xDVI/HDMI/DP -Lite Retail" for ~130 Euro.

... i hate those "special", modified versions that make it so much harder to get a clue about what im actually buying xD

im searching them from germany so i expect to pay a few more bucks than elsewhere^^
(atm it seems as if those radeon cards are generally more expensive)
