Plus the amount of time you play doesn't make any difference to blizzard, they want your monthly subs be it because you raid 5 hours a night on heroic or 5 hours a week in LFR, you're worth the same to them at the end of the month.
I killed Illidan but didn't make it to Sunwell either. We raided 7 hours a week at most, usually less than that. We killed Lich King with around 6-7 hours a week and Deathwing before max buff was in effect with about 4 hours a week raid time. Where do people get 16 hours a week raid time requirements? And TRUST me...I did NOT lead a cutting edge min/max top tier raider team. Not with a mage who didn't upgrade to Tier 10 until he had 4/4 and a DK who eventually "punished" us for wiping by taking a drink/shot for each one.
Ironically, I'm in the different boat. Due to others quitting for RL reasons, I haven't been able to raid this expansion. LFR is.....boring as all hell.
I don't get how anyone finds it interesting or engaging with how simplified it is. I've been in top 5 DPS while reading the forums during boss fights. Don't get me wrong, the concept is fine, but it just seems so heavily tuned down that it's boring as hell.
I'll use LFR to see Garrosh come down, but I'm debating for the first time just letting the sub lapse after seeing it once. There's not much of interest in running easy mode week after week.
For those who enjoy it, kudos to ya and glad you're enjoying the new feature. Maybe I can get into flex raiding and go that route instead.

i can make one-sided claims based solely on my experiences too!
If you are satisfied with mediocrity (or lower standards than average) then that's cool and I can respect that.
For me, I wouldn't ever play this game if it wasn't for heroic raiding.
I was shouting from the roof tops in TBC I would like an easy mode for content/story view that rewarded NO LOOT. That's how much I was wanting a Lore Mode of raids just to see the story; I wanted to do the entire thing with NO REWARD. And that was STILL with raiding and getting to see Illidan properly myself.
It was supposedly to see content, but it's not anymore. It's a separate progression path that essentially weakens the motivation of doing the other versions for many. And yeah, that's possibly epeen, but let's not kid ourselves that LFR is "to see stuff and how the story plays out."
likewise, what i said is incredibly one sided, as people like you and many others have the convenience of experiencing the content and getting loot without committing to a set time and date every week or so. or people who want to gear alts, etc. it has its benefits, i was just being a jackass to get my point across :P
