is LFR really that easy? tanked Shek'zeer LFR as arms

About 2 weeks ago, I was in HoF LFR. before Grand Emp, our tank left. when after 5 minutes no new tank appeared, I swapped to defensive stance, equipped a 429 1H and a shield I had in my bags, and offtanked as arms, taunting when the other tank had 4 stacks. I died 3 times and got rezzed 2 times, took many crits and was close to death a few times, but we oneshot the boss. keep in mind I didn't even overgear it, I had 1/3 463, 1/3 476, 1/6 450 and 1/6 483.

is LFR really that easy that a tank spec is nearly optional?

"died 3 times and got rezzed 2 times". If this is acceptable to you, then yes. LFR is that easy. The rest of us will probably think you got carried hard.
If you add me on Steam, Skype or whatever program/client I share my info for, please write something to identify you in the "Dude/gal wants to join your club"-message. Just so I know that an actual human is on the other end :P

Just because you did not outgear it does not mean your healers did not outgear it..

Is that really a "herp derp I died a lot, too easy" thread ? Rage against LFR will never stop I guess...

Actually the group did work well together, which is uncommon.
3 resses for one right person is pretty well done, and as others mentioned. Healers/dps can have outgeared it vastly, making the fight a lot shorter/easyer.
Grand empress have the advantage of not so many other people dying, so the resses could be saved for you even if you had some dorks in the group.

Mostly when some horrible dps die you will see him go "rezz plz", despite them being completely worthless in the encounter. Sadly some people even res them, so you can't ress the tank when it's needed.
Everyone has so much to say

you died 3 times in LFR & claim it to be easy? think about what you just wrote. dear god.

The bosses dont hit as hard as the trash in HoF anyway and 6 healers is overkill as well

I guess if you consider dying 3 times in one fight to be an acceptable tanking experience then yes a tanking spec is optional. I'm not sure what's wrong with you however.

Look, I know that dying 3 times in the same fight is hardly acceptable, but I'm mostly surprised that I didn't get instantly oneshot every time I taunted.

It's easy enough, but you still (obviously) depend on your healers and your fellow tank to make a timely swap.

To be honest mate, you just come across as desperate to complain.

Stop feeding the trolls... If we had a mod this could be locked straight away.

I tank on my warlock like a baws. Never die.

Shek'zeer, if I remember rightly, does actually hit decently hard on LFR. I recall 250k hits on my prot warrior when I was doing it.

Memory could be faulty though. In any case, with a shield and defensive stance, you've got most of the damage reduction of a properly prot specced warrior, you're just missing AM, a few spec exclusive damage reduction things, and more avoidance from gear than the parry you get from strength.

LFR hate threads have made spilled onto the class discussions forum D:

You used up a 25 man's worth of battle rezes and likely had a lot of people who massively outgeared it. LFR Shekzeer actually is pretty easy, but you're not exactly the shining example of it, lol.

I tanked The Stone Guards in MSV as arms with a 2 hander. Didnt die once. Happy now?
