So i've been gearing up my Druid as a Tank (see sig) in LFR.
I queue for the second wing of ToT and right off the bat i get a whisper from the other tank "Hey, i'm new to the place". He was a Blood Elf Male Warrior with little achievement points and it was fairly obvious by his gearing that he wasn't very experienced. Shrugged it, i mean, can't be worse than my usual runs.
I then went ahead and explained clearly how to tank every single fights and trashes in whispers, the guy not only listened but did everything very well, Tortos went flawlessly, Megaera was a joke, not a single breath even touched the raid (considering how many time i had to heal through them on my monk...) and Ji'kun taunt swaps were finely executed. He didn't even die to Gastropods, unlike half of my raid. He told me multiple time how much he appreciated how helpful i was, and i can imagine how much abuse you probably endure as a new tank in this day and age of LFD/LFR anonymity. Specially since it contrasted so much with my attitude in Instance chat where i usually make fun of idiots and such (yeah sorry, if you die 3 times to the gastropod or can't move out of the raid with cinders, don't blame me for calling it out).
I actually enjoyed what first came off as yet another grueling LFR experience because i got to play with someone that was willing to learn and to put efforts into the game. If even a tiny fraction of LFR raiders were like that guy, i might change my stance about it.
Now don't get me wrong, i'm not patting myself on the back here, its only natural for the experienced to pass down his knowledge to the inexperienced. I just think its awesome because i can't remember the last time i got to do it without either getting flat out insulted for it, or ignored.
