VP in the next patch?

Anyone know if VP will still be of use in the next patch? Or will it be as useful as JP? I've seen no new VP gear on vendors or anything, is it just for upgrading gear now?
Just wondering before I upgrade all my offspec gear.

Also will Mogu coins still be used (again, before I go spending them on pointless rolls)

I believe that there is no new Valor gear, that Valor upgrading will still be available next patch, and that there will be a new type of Coin for SoO raiding.
