Obviously, the talents are subject to change no doubt. Still fun to talk about them though!
Does anyone else feel like we actually got some of the most interesting ones this time around? At least it looks like they will alter our playstyle by quite a bit compared to now.
Prolonged Exposure will start off as a bad talent while growing to overpowered later in the expansion, very likely to get an overhaul. Don't have the haste or crit levels to pull off prolonging the specified talents by many seconds. Losing a lot of DPS just prolonging the Frost version with non-FoF Ice Lances.
Focusing Crystal seems interesting.
Possible to just put it up all the time and focus it while cleaving Nether Tempest off to the boss, or time it before a nuke phase for extra burst at the start of it. Imagine this on Spine progression! The least picked PvP talent I'd assume, while still holding some value as you can root, run around corner, pop it and get the upper hand. Could do the same, but defensively too. Root/stun/snare/etc and run away, pop it, do whatever damage you can to it and the enemy might just wait those few seconds left of it allowing you to wait out those dots and invis away or whatever. I'm no PvPer so could be entirely wrong here.
Lastly Falling Stars.
The Arcane version seems very lackluster for single target unless it works similarly to the old Flame Orb. With that short of a CD I seriously doubt that however. It will no doubt suffer the pathing issues, glad it has such a low cooldown
The Fire version looks like a killer AoE burst ability. Pop it, and continue on with your clunky AoE rotation
The Frost version doesn't look too bad. The best talent numbers-wise unless you have a decent amount of adds in a higher than 30second interval, that would make Fire's better if they do not die within those 10 seconds. Would be pretty good for Dark Shaman blobs.
At a first glance to me it looks like Falling Stars or Focusing Crystal would definitely be the go-to talents for the first tier at least. With Falling Stars falling behind later due to probably only scaling off Spell Power while Focusing Crystal and Prolonged Exposure scale really well.
Post your own thoughts about these talents and how you feel we stand compared to the other classes talents.
