Goblin loyalty (and only one cartel out of who knows how many) to the Horde goes as far as their paycheck. If Garrosh went bankrupt today, Bilgewater Port would be a neutral port open to the Alliance tomorrow.

Goblins are ultimately neutral and only faction restricted for race balance.

http://www.wowwiki.com/Valeera_Sanguinar not sure if she was a blood elf or simple high elf tho, to lazy to read lol but her name reminds me of blood so..

Aiden Perenolde and the nation of alterac defected to the horde

Aaah forgot all about Valeera. Still though, it'd be pretty sweet if an entire rogue faction defected to the Alliance, like the Laughing Skull orcs once did, as somebody suggested, though them being fel orcs now kinda makes that a bit tough.

The last group to switch sides, the Kingdom of Alterac, was destroyed so utterly by the Alliance that they ceased to exist, never to rise again. It would be fitting if the Horde defectors met the same fate. A history repeats itself sort of thing.

Varian and the player goes to meet the leader of the Laughing Skull Clan (or whoever), but when they arrive they find a field of pikes with the impaled heads of every man, woman and child of the clan. All their bodies and clan artifacts heaped up in a giant burning pile.

But with Garrosh out of the picture, that probably won't happen.

If you really think about it, the Darkspear tribe are rebels... against the larger Troll empire of the Zandalari (and all the other tribes that joined up with them).

I thought the Darkspear Rebellion would be pretty obvious...?

The Silver Covenant are a rebel faction of Blood Elves who reject the Blood Elf name, and have joined the Blood Elves' enemies in the alliance, so they can kill their countrymen. They pretend at being 'old school' 'true elves' as if they can somehow deny the 3 consecutive crises that irrevocably changed the Quel'dorei; but the fact is they are just pretending, clinging to a time that was thrice shattered and forever gone. They are to High Elves as University Socialists are to Bolsheviks.

Oh nice one! Though Alterac is no more, mainly because of this betrayal. Similarly in WCII the Laughing Skull clan betrayed the Horde and worked with the Alliance in an attempt the sieze power.

This. Can't believe it took so long before someone mentioned the Darkspear and/or Vol'Jin.

Only Goblins from the Bildgewater Cartel joined the Horde, the many other Cartels remain neutral unless (obviously) paid for their services

She was a companion of him during their time as Gladiators.

Although she still seems rather loyal to the Alliance, she would still prefer if the Horde and Alliance weren't always on eachothers throats:

I heard the Horde is amassing its own army to head to Northrend. HOPEFULLY your Alliance and the Horde can focus on the real threat. You know, instead of each other?
Somehow I think that's unlikely to happen, if my experience here is any indication. Your people have been SO welcoming to me.
    <Valeera mutters angrily to herself.>

Grimtotem have a loyal group dedicated to the Horde (led by Jevan "Stormsong" Grimtotem)

Grimtotem have a loyal group dedicated to the Alliance (led by Ton Windbow)

Grimtotem have a loyal group dedicated to themselves (led by Magatha Grimtotem)

    So theirs a lot there.

But she doesn't consider herself Alliance, in fact she cares for neither Horde or Alliance.

Hum the silver convenant is NOT a rogue faction of the blood elves...
In fact they are High elves (yes true ones, look blue eyes, no corruption), they always have been.

They always have been Alliance, blood elves rejected the Alliance after the affair with that dumb Garithos.

The crisis that changed the Queldorei didn't change them, they changed most of them. The ones that weren't affected are the High elves, and the Kirin tor ones call themselves the Silver Covenant.

    You got it all backwards.

A lot of this is simply false.
Blood Elf / High Elf distinction is both political and physical.

Political, it means you either follow or followed Kael'thas at some point (the former being killable NPCs/mobs in TBC content) and are now allied to the Horde.
Physical, it means you were present in or around Silvermoon during the time that Kael'thas has demons imported to siphon from, the radiant fel energies being enough to turn your eyes green. Even if you personally didn't taste demonic power, the mere nearby presence of the siphoning act being commited was enough to prompt a physical change.
    Looking marvelous in velvet.

There are humans who used to work for Thrall as spies. It was a minor plot point in... Cycle of Hatred I think but it's definitely been confirmed that there were at least humans working for the Horde at some point.

That, the defias brotherhood, the twilight's hammer, the scarlet crusade, the burning blade, and every other faction that is against the Alliance and or Horde prove that you don't need to inherently be loyal to the race or faction you were born into.

We simply don't see Horde races work for the Alliance or visa versa because they're in an extreme minority.

I think the existence of a "turncoat" is something they've deliberately kept out of the game. They don't want to deal with the "well if that Tauren can join the Alliance, why can't mine?" complaints.

But in reality, yes -- you'd see some of it.

there was that blood elf Valeera Sanguinar who was with the alliance king varian
