    They have a few times for bigger patches. It's not typical and people shouldn't expect it but it does occasionally happen.

    Just stop, please? The last 3 years the arena season has ended on patch day with the new season starting the week after. It has been confirmed by multiple sources the patch is the exact same day as the end of the arena season.

    thats probably why its happening then tbh. Its not the first time they've released a patch or expansion to tie in with a game release.

    Balancing the numbers doesn't have to be a long process though. They have 2 weeks still and they can push a couple more PTR builds in that time which should be enough to cover the most important balance issues. Further balancing will be done through hotfixes in the days after the patch release

    no it hasm'nt,its always ended a week before the patch, then the season after usually started week after
