New TCG image...next expansion theme?

WoW TCG posted a new image along with their release of the new TCG pack 'Reign Of Fire'.

Whats interesting is that the artwork is suspiciously similar to what the next expansion has been rumored to be based on. Legion guy in the middle with alliance and horde next to him.

What do you think?

Seeing as how thats Archimonde, i dont think it means much. But maybe he ankhed or something idk. Probably doesnt mean much

That Horde looks like Grom Hellscream to me, so I'd have to say no. Well maybe the theme could be similar but this definitely looks like it comes from the Warcraft 3 story. I'm pretty sure the alliance is Jania and the guy in between them is Archimonde.

I hate how blizzard kills there own awesome characters, but still uses them in promotion. That 10th anniversary poster with Cairne in it.. it sucks knowing he's gone.

A lot of TCG sets are based on older lore.

And this set is specifically called "Timewalkers" so, it's bound to have lots of stuff from different eras. I don't think this is in any way a preview of what's coming.

Looks like the TCG theme is the battle for Mount Hyjal at the end of Warcraft 3. It's just the theme for the card deck, not a sign of the next expansion.

This is a scene from the 1st Battle of Mt. Hyjal (2nd battle was in Cata). So unless next expansion features a rehash of the CoT raid from BC, nope.

archimonde coming back wouldn't really be surprising. he wasn't just a normal man'ari eredar, so he and kil'jaedan could have become like the dreadlords, where you need to kill them either in the twisting nether or on argus. but grom, kinda hopefully, ain't ever coming back. unless maybe they do some kind of spirit thing, like with the emperor.

They used to, but that stopped being the case I think sometime during Cataclysm.

Yes that is obviously Grom Hellscream, Archimonde, and Jaina Proudmoore.
Still to it would be nice if we had more Caverns of Time stuff from the Bronze Dragonflight.
