I'm firmly in the "Other" category. There are issues on both sides I strongly agree with. The political party that most fits me is Libertarian but I don't agree 100% with them either.

  2. #42
    Neither.

But then again, we have more than two sides when it comes to politics.

I'm centrist. I noticed in your title you say 'conservative' or 'a liberal' which creates bias. But you noted that in your OP, so there's that.

Both sides are retarded, both sides have decent ideas. The fact that it's all or nothing is the actual detrimental affect of our bicameral political system. Third parties don't help either - just muddy the water.

Only when we can get past platforms and start being smart with our politics when any real and lasting change happen.

I lean more to the Conservative side, but essentially i'm not left-wing or right-wing. It really matters which topic is discussed.

I'm not homophobic but I feel there are more important issues than Gay Marriage right at this moment
I feel that the poor should get help but the lazy should not
I think that a life sentance should mean life in prison, or we should bring back the death penalty
I think that people who can afford to pay more tax should pay more tax
I think nurses and teachers should be as higher paid. I think politicians should be paid less.
I think more women need to be involved in decision making at the highest level.
I think public services should focus more on personnel and less on management
I care about foreign countries but I think foreign aid should be reviewed and significantly reduced.

I guess UK Independence party but I don't know, none of the parties really fit. Also I know the irony of saying I'm not prejudiced but, I just did that because I'd never consider BNP, EDL or anything like that. I have concerns which I think are valid, but I don't agree with the extremist views that all muslims are bad or things like that.
I agree on all of the points you listed, except the two I've bolded.

Women shouldn't be forced into positions, because that means Men will be fired, just to make way for Women, who might not even be as qualified, and just get the job because of their tits.

The same can be said for the Richer paying more Tax. I disagree, but I think there should be a flat percentage rate for everyone anyway, which might end up being an increase in reality. If everyone paid 10% tax, and we paid it like we do with VAT (on Items, not from out Pay Checks) then our tax revenue would increase, as with every Chocolate Bar, Car, Pot of Paint, or Fish 'n' Chips you buy, you're paying tax directly into the Government.

It would be far easier to monitor a businesses and their taxes, as they would need to register, then the entire nation of individuals. Monitor the businesses, and offer businesses who sign up to Company House Registration (Last I checked, around a £45 annual fee) a 1% drop in their tax bill (9% in this case, making their products cheaper). By registering, we have legal access to all their tax records, and could for the cost of 1% tax per company, could earn far more by cutting our tax evasion.

Hrm...I don't think either option fits me well anymore. When I was 18 I registered as a Republican, though I fail to see eye to eye with them 8 years later. At the same time, Democrats are hard for me to identify with. I agree with both parties on "some" issues, but not a single party on all issues.

I support the country having a balanced budget first and foremost. We cannot afford to stay afloat when we owe more than we make - it's simple economics.

I support less government restrictions and a smaller government in general. If I want to do something, let me do it as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. But, the moment my freedom to do as I want infringes upon someone, I forfeit mine.

I support guns and am an avid shooter. I'm also a concealed weapon license instructor in my state, and I work at a gun shop. I support citizens having a firearms education course before being eligible to purchase a firearm as well as a universal background check for any and all sales where the buyer isn't nationally recognized as being a "safe" buyer. For example, in Kentucky if you wish to purchase you come to the store and walk out with a handgun or rifle 20 minutes later. We have a concealed weapons license program, and if you have a concealed weapons license, you can skip the background check. Paperwork is still filled out and filed with the BATFE, but it's quicker and less of a hassle. The concealed weapons license database is constantly monitored by the Kentucky DoJ and if you do something to nullify your ability to have one, your license is revoked immediately - they watch it like a hawk in my experience. We would also need to overhaul the background check system to make it easier to facilitate face to face purchases between Bob and Larry, but keep them just as safe. Perhaps a phone or online system similar to what is used by FFLs but accessible to normal citizens.

I am pro-choice, but would prefer there be a cutoff point, in my opinion the end of the second trimester, unless it jeopardizes the mother - at which point the length of pregnancy should not matter.

I support equality in marriage. If Steve loves Bob, why stop them from marrying? We should choose who we want to marry, not a law.

I think that religion has 0 place in government proceedings, but I do not believe we need to forget the christian past in the U.S. Phrases like "In God We Trust" and "One Nation Under God," do not bother me in the slightest since we were founded with mainly christian beliefs (Yes, I realize that both of those examples were added in the 50's). Personally, I don't see how saying "Under God" in the pledge could be construed as "forcing" Christianity onto people. However, I would have no issue were they removed, either.

Overall, I say I lean more towards Liberal with of my beliefs, yet I still do not strongly identify as one. I just don't know.

I am a capitalist, and as the liberal party in my country leans more and more to socialist policies, I find myself voting for more conservative candidates.

That's a low number this topic is a bimonthly one. To the OP there is nothing "Patriotic" about being conservative. Conservatives are generally the first to tell others what to do and impose their beliefs onto other people. I am neither conservative nor liberal. I believe we need social programs to assist those in troubling times. I do not believe people should be allowed to take advantage of those programs like they currently are. I am conservative to a point but I am also liberal on many things. I believe you should put into the system and when you fall on hard times you should be able to get help without jumping through a bunch of bureaucratic red tape while certain individuals who know how to work the system easily sponge off it their entire lives. I also believe if you have children you should be able to support them without help. It really pisses me off when I see welfare recipients talk about how someone else needs to take care of their kids. I feel religion has no place in political and social policy-making.

    Neither. I'm a left-leaning libertarian, though I don't care for labels.

I'm just the opposite, socially very conservative and fiscally moderate. Libertarians scare the hell out of me. I listened to part of their last convention and the hair rose on the back of my neck.

As a Liberal, myself. I can easily say that I kinda hate this country in a sense, but for reasons that anyone could hate the country.

I definitely hate our political system, we let parties divide us, which causes a lot of bias when it comes to congress, this causes representatives to mindlessly follow the party they represent's beliefs just so they can seek another term in congress. They seek new terms so that they can make much profit without having to put much effort into their job, just spew a bunch of propaganda when the elections come around, and they keep their jobs. I think we need to find a way to make it that only the responsible Senators who actually do good for the people can make it into office. I hate how our legislative branch has become a contest to see who can restrict the other party the most.

I can say the only thing I have enjoyed about America is the spirit of the country. Although we might seem to come across as a bunch of bickering buffoons to some people in other countries, I still have noticed that when it comes to nationalism, most people who live in America love their country. This is because America's history, in the last century, has been people coming together, overcoming differences, and somehow managing to get along. My family is of Italian decent, and my mom used to tell me stories of how my grandfather was discriminated against for being an Italian, and that he never even wanted any of his kids to learn the Italian language, but after some time, discrimination against Italians diminished, this also happened with the Irish who moved to America. This could very well happen to the Hispanic and Latino/Latina people that are immigrating to America, now. Through all of our differences, whether it's conflicting political beliefs to bitter rivalries between our heritages, we can still unite ourselves under one banner, "The United States of America".

Not saying that's bad, my family's pretty liberal, but I guess I lean right myself, I'm more patriotic, I guess....where do you go politically if you HAD to choose one of the two? Just want to check where most gaming freaks lean
Neither side of US politics has a monopoly on patriotism.

i'm somewhere in between. if people won't accept tolerance, i would force it on them. i'm all for killing those that are useless to society, the beasts that commit horrid crimes. i'm also not a coward to meet hatred with hatred. i would also gladly wipe out certain groups from the world.

the way i see it, liberals are too cowardly and foolish. full on conservatives are too intolerant and stuck in the past.
