5.4 Frost Mage

Would be nice to get some PTR feedback from pvpers on new Mastery and how the burst nerf affects us.
Been reading some positive feedback but mostly from PVE boys.

Viable?! For what purpose?! Mages have NEVER EVER been unviable for arena pvp and they will never be. If it's 1v1 you are thinking, where mages are pretty average, I don't see these changes affecting anything.

they will be fine. devs already straight up reverted the rampup from frostbolt to cover for the mastery nerf. if they need another damage buff i'm sure blizz will tack one on.

I think the mastery is another cheap gimmick that works crappily, but looks cool. Hope they actually tone down pressure and burst this way and do not succomb to the shitty mage threads on forums. Am positive as to what this means signaling for pvp.

Most of the People complaining about mage are in General pretty Bad and actually Never passed the 1.8 Mark. Just the Same Story as in the official Forums where People complaining about mage without Even the 1550 av. (Wrote on Smartphone)

Since when are frost mages average in duels? You mean just in pandaland, cause hunters went op and they are their counter? At least before that they used to be op, but i didn't play a frost mage by the end of early wotlk. Should be still good against most melees.

back to topic.

I have played a few 2s game at about 2.2k mmr (ptr...) and mage is still very strong, although the new mastery does absolute nothing(2k each icicle). But i guess/hope they will fix the numbers.

I cant tell anything about 3s.... guess we still get globaled by hunterpets/rets/feral since there are no major defensive changes.

Mages are average in 1v1 in MoP, yes.

Feral druid, hunter, elem shaman, demo lock >>>>> mage in 1v1
Rogues and monks are 50-50 for a mage.
Mages should be able to easily beat any warrior, dk or ret pala.

i think the rogue is easier for the frost mage than a dk.

If you allow heals to the ele shaman maybe.

But i never said op, either.
