    when you go into a eclipse state do you only refresh the dott which the ecplise favor or do you refresh both?

    In general both, starting with the one not affected by the eclipse. IF, for instance, you've refreshed your dots at 0 solar , thus you have an empowered Sunfire running, and you enter a Lunar with 5-6+ seconds on the empowered Sunfire, just let it be till 2 seconds left on it and then refresh it.

    Both unless the non eclipsed dot has a lot of time remaining on it/ not going to fall off soon
    Mew!

    @Mirri, how?
    When you enter an eclipse you want to refresh the dot for you specific eclipse.
    That way you'll have 2 eclipsed dots running at the same time.
    About halfway through you refresh the dot that's not empowered and depending on your crits you refresh the eclipsed dot once again just before you leave the eclipse.

    I do not know which gear level you play at, but from about at least 520+ you usually should not need to refresh dots in the same eclipse, as you will usually go through the non-eclipsed phase fast enough.

    other than that, try to clip non-eclipsed dots on the last tick as soon as you get it eclipsed, and let eclipsed ones run out before you reapply the non-eclipsed version. Usually i do not care about this, but theoretically should give you some more dps.

    I'm currently at 525 and will not make it from one eclipse to the other without refreshing it in between. It all depends on luck with crits, but generally it wont.
    But as you have basicly pointed out, it depends on your gear.
    But to come back at the question of the topic; "When you go into a eclipse state do you only refresh the dott which the ecplise favor or do you refresh both?"
    It depends how much you crit and how long the eclipsed dot will still be on.

    If you are 2 or less cast away to get into an Eclipse, and the dot from the eclipse you're going into drops off, wait till you get to that Eclipse. You shouldn't have to refresh a dot without NG buff.

    You have a usefull addon that can help you know if it's worth refreshing a dot or not : Affdot - Balance druid. Regarding this addon, don't refresh if value isn't 130+ not worth it below.

    Generally, our dots aren't the strongest part of our dmg, wasting GCDs on refreshing them AGAIN after getting a proc is probably not going to work out in your favor. Besides, if you have 10-20 second trinket procs, you can usually get into next eclipse with that buff still active.
    UVLS is the only exception to this imho.
