    Flexing During Recovery?

    Just getting back into lifting and I've seen people saying that you should flex your muscles during recovery between sets. Is this just a myth or does it really help speed recovery?

    Just wondering how many people do this, and if so what are your perceived results from it?

    Flexing between sets seems counter productive since you'd be using up the energy you're trying to build up for the next set if you're full out flexing. I used to lightly contract the muscle a few times then relax but honestly I haven't noticed a difference since Ive stopped doing it.

    It actually helps reduce the lactic acid build up when you flex and unflex your muscles in between sets.. and helps glycogen get to them.. which in turn provides the muscles with energy.
