How to declare someone insane, legally.....

I've wondered for some time already, how this case never made it into this forums.
To make this clear upfront. This is not meant to bash Germany. So, if you want to respond, and have nothing else to contribute than bashing, just refrain from posting altogether. I post this, because this case is so mind blowing, and so unique, one could make a movie out of it.. The story is so unbelievable, any great crime novel author would have a hard time to come up with such interconnection of people and situations..
So let me try to give you the facts.. Since this is an international forum, I may not always have the best sources linked. But I want to link as much in English as possible, and I have cross read every article to make sure it reflects the facts as they are known.

The case shook Germany and it's legal system almost to it's foundation. A still ongoing battle of a man, against a network of highly influential people.. For all it needed was, friends and connections in the right places, and the man found himself in a psychiatric ward, classified as being dangerously delusional. And there he stood, for 7.5 years.....
It's an embarrassment for the entire country It's particularly a shame and disgusting of the Bavarian government, and the court system, and the law, which enabled the misuse of THE law in the first place.

So here we go with a summary of English articles I've found:
    http://www.theguardian.com/world/201...v-claims-fraud
    https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/201.../gust-j27.html

For anyone who understands German, here is the TV Documentary mentioned in the articles.
It's excellent Journalism, and I was left speechless and shocked after I've seen it the first time:

Here the most recent development.. The - for now - good news:
    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...s-8748934.html

And the most recent development... The lawyers starting to open the battle..

Money talks in a capitalist world, and people act all surprised about it when that's the case. That is the real joke. What do you think happens, when profit is the highest goal?

Capitalism is directly in conflict with democracy. It amuses me that people keep failing to understand that.

Everyone thinks they have rights, freedoms and personal power, but when it matters, all of those can easily be taken from you and you are deemed unworthy in the eyes of the world. Truth doesn't matter. A lie travels around the world before truth has got its boots on.

I am aware of the things you say, I'm not living in a dream world
It's the uniqueness and magnitude of this particular case that shocks me.... Okay, there is also some personal feelings involved. The city happens to be my hometown too. And even though it's a 500.000 people city and 1.5 mio ppl metro surrounding it. The city has kept it's medieval character, and in a way it is also considered to be rather provincial, and not so much a modern world metro.
I wouldn't have had a problem with imagining such in a bigger city like Frankfurt, Munich or Berlin. But not Nuremberg.

    Quite frankly...
    I'm not surprised.

I do hope that, in effect, the people responsible for it will be punished. Severely. Corporate dictatorship should not be allowed. I also hope the Bavarian bank will be destroyed in the aftermath.
