    Not on Haswell, nope.

Trust me on this, haswell runs incredibly hot.

I could run 1.35v on my 3570k with the 212 evo and keep under 80c.
Now running with a 4670k with the h60 at 1170v I get 85-90c under load.

I kinda regret selling my custom loop now :/

At least you got good voltages. To push 4.6 on my 4670k I need no less than 1.3V.

I guess so. I might even end up delidding the chip to push for a higher clock. Getting bottlenecked with my 780 in BF3....

I got a C70 Corsair Vengeance Case, good air flow, plus the PC is gonna stand next to the AC exit.
I want to bring the PC with me in the plane, full of air bubble everywhere, you think it still would be safe having a Water Cooling?
I just linked you an AIO for $50 (after $25 MIR) from Newegg, this thing is H800-H100 level of performance at $25-45 less.

Crap glad I stuck with the i7 3770k chip. Got it on a custom loop and I can push 4.9Ghz and keep it under 85C. Keeping it at 4.5Ghz to keep it at ambient + 10C.

Sounds ot me like the haswell chips aren't really worth it then.

Unless you wanna aim for 4.8GHz+ on Ivy Bridge there is no reason not to get haswell.
Haswell should handle 4.4-4.5GHz on most chips, which translates to 4.7/4.8GHz on Ivy Bridge.

    @Notarget

I should have been more clear.
My point was at that price point he wasn't going to pick up anything that is a substantial upgrade over a 212 on the aio side. I have yet to encounter any AIO solution that I would deem as usable out of the box simply due to the fans they come with outright (unless i've missed a beat here) suck. The cooler you linked though is impressive and I do forget that in America not only are your base prices cheaper but you get stupid discounts on things on top.

Once again i'm curious the clock and vcore the OP is currently at, if the chip is a hungry bugger the jump won't be anything special (maybe an extra 200mhz) if the chip is good it could be night and day.

So my Corsair H110 that I've had cooling a 3570k and now a 4770k @ 4.6ghz keeping the idle temp at 29-30C and temp under load around 65C max isn't useable out of the box? Weird.

I've had great experiences with all in one liquid coolers. I use them in all of my builds and would recommend them.

That being said, $5 worth of quality thermal paste can shave 5* off your temps vs. the pre-applied stuff.

They are loud when they ramp up if you don't like noise they aren't.

Also without specifying vcore and ambient temps that means absolutely nothing if you got lucky on silicon lottery you could do it on a far lesser cooler.

The H110 is also usually around twice the OPs budget.
