using fel flame to reset corruption and UA

still dont understand why this isn't endorsed in guides.

    My opening order is:

    corruption, agony, UA.

By doing this the corruption and UA should expire at roughly the same time. Then you can use fel flame to keep them up. This is especially useful with Dark Soul: Misery, since you can keep up the buffed dots for 100% of the fight. Just refresh agony normally.

What do you think? also take into account that fel flame does deal damage.

It sets them to your current stats, not extending the buffed dots so for example, if you use UA while Misery is up, and fel flame the second Misery has ended, you have a much less powerful dot. Also because Fel flame does not extend them to full duration, and warlocks have the Pandemic passive, you spend less GCDs over the fight by recasting dots than refreshing with Fel Flame, because corruption and UA take almost the same amount of time to add their full timer as Fel Flame takes to add only 6 seconds.

This, saying again so the message isn't lost. It is, however, worth noting that this was not the case when haunt was refreshing corruption back in ICC. Power rolling a single super strong corruption with haunt refreshes instead of recasts was a real thing then, it just isn't anymore.
You're just jealous because the voices are talking to me!

It's fairly well established that the frequent GCD & mana cost of using Fel Flame to refresh dots is a substantial loss of DPS versus manually refreshing them throughout a boss encounter. The dots will snapshot your damage with every Fel Flame refresh as well, they don't maintain whatever damage they were rolling at, so you're mistaken there.

Regardless, it looks like Fel Flame is losing that functionality in 5.4, so there's not much point in theorycrafting it.
