The Neverhood is one of the oddest, and most surreal experiences you can have with a point and click adventure game, or any game for that matter. It has an absolutely amazing acoustic sound track and the entire game was made out of clay. It's a game where actions speak louder then words. I really can't recommend this game enough.

Darklands. One of the first RPGs. GoG currently has it for more than it cost new, which I find hilarious.

And the tiny fraction for whom heroic raids are currently well tuned? Too bad,so sad! With the arterial bleed of subs the fastest it's ever been, the vanity development that gives you guys your own content is no longer supportable.

That being said, what are some classics that my generation have missed which should really be played and still hold their own?
ROTT, Doom, Duke Nukem, God of Thunder (I think that was the name of it)

Freespace 1 and 2. Especially 2. AFAIK, they're the last great space sims (as far as being a pilot is concerned).

    My childhood:

    Fallout 2
    Warcraft II
    Diablo I
Heroes of Might and Magic II

Heroes of Might & Magic 3
    Baldur's Gate
    Warcraft 2
    C&C Red Alert

    to name a few

LOL at people who put WoW in their list and no other warcraft. WoW shouldn't even be in anyones list as a classic pc game, its still current, and to put ahead of ANY of the warcrafts is just insulting...

Some of GoG's pricing is a little weird. But they have sales frequently enough that I wouldn't let it bother you.
    Some would ask
"How could a perfect God create a universe with so much that is evil?"
They have missed a greater conundrum
"Why would a perfect God create a universe at all?"
