    Its not cost effective if that is you goal. If your going to stream it will pass but you will want to overclock your cpu (4.2ghz+ is a nice point to shoot for, you will need an aftermarket cooler). If your going to use fraps it will do the job fine but you will want a second 7200rpm drive that is used exclusively for fraps (if your reading from the same drive you are writing to [especially with how slow hdd are by modern standards] you will get a large performance hit).

    Also I personally wouldn't touch a thermaltake psu, they haven't had a good rep for a while now I would be getting something else there.

    Is this a prebuilt or self assembled rig and do you already have it or looking at getting it? If you haven't got it already give us your location and we can tweak it a bit for you (if you haven't already bought it and aren't buying for a month or so I would wait for 9000 series).
    Personal rig:
    • i5-3570k (4.2ghz) || CM hyper 212 evo || Asrock extreme 4 || Corsair (2 x 4gb 1600mhz) ram
    • Samsung 840 (120gb) || WD blue 1tb || WD green 1tb
    • Powercolor 7870xt || Silverstone strider 500w ||NZXT source 210
