Cancer cant have a "cure" in the typical sense. It is not a virus, it is not bacteria, it is a genetically defective cell growth that spreads through out your body and destroys what it can. (very abridged)

There can be no single "cure" for cancer. It must be tailored to the individual. We are only starting to see breakthroughs in this. Cancer, is also genetically based in most cases. There are ways to slow cancer growth and even prevent it, or move it further down the road of life by living a better life style and avoiding certain substances.

Also worth mentioning that Big Pharma isn't the only player when it comes to research. There's simply no incentive at all for the NCI to or an academic institution to say, "hey, we're sitting on the biggest discovery of the century in medicine, but we'll not be publishing it, because MONEY SOMEHOW".

The curative effects of any plant are a function of the compounds it produces, which can all be isolated, synthesized, and refined given enough time. Your "can't be patented" argument is BS. Marijuana has shown some promise in mitigating some of the side effects of chemotherapy, as well as some implications in memory formation/recall. It is NOT some magic cure for everything like a lot of people like to claim. Making such unrealistic and hyperbolic claims actually does more harm than good to the legalization effort. Your snake oil argument is BS.

Marijuana needs to be legalized, researched, and used to it's potential. It does NOT need some well-intentioned, yet poorly informed PR fan-club hawking it like some cure-all quack tonic.

Heroin(diacetylmorphine ) actually has medical use in the UK and many other countries around the world as a pain killer, legal with prescription. I agree Marijuana should also be used to it's true potential. However as the person above me said, it's not the magic cure to cancer.
