Timeless isle: Are these droprates accurate?

So i've spent abour 2 hours on the timeless isle and i've already gotten 4x 489 epic items drop from enemies. Is this an accurate droprate or am i just over-excited? Can't find any info from developers on it.

pretty accurate, drops are random and 496 items are pretty common

upgrading them to 535 or getting full set of 496 with the affixes you want will be harder

I farmed random stuff on timeless isle for about 50 min for legendary and I found 3 or 4 chests and a total of 6 armor pieces.

The armor dropped is 496 btw not 489. You can also upgrade it to 535 later I think

Sad because these alt friendly changes really had to be here about oh.... 6 months ago... but better late than never I guess. Hope they can get back at least some of the numerous subs/player-base they lost.

2x epic items from karkanos alone, too! :O

And yeah, i totally agree with you, voidspark. I've had a difficult time making it into raiding guilds because they demand such high ilvs. This isle should really have been in since 5.1 to be honest.

How many alts do you need in raiding guilds? If you are playing 1 or 2 toons you can easily get to 530 on both by now.

So you think all those people that left was because of not being able to fully gear out alts in a day?

Bullshit. I've been doing heroic scenarios and running LFR constantly and i'm sitting on 511 on my mage and 510 on my prot pala. How the hell would you even be able to get 530 ilv without having luck? I barely get items from HC scenarios or LFR, so saying that i'm doing something wrong isn't really all that helpful when i'm doing all i can.

I'm not even on a raid team. The only time I raid is in pugs...guess it might be a server problem but I've cleared normal multiple times and killed a few heroics all in pugs. I only play 2 nights a week and my lock is 530 and my holy paly is 520. I stopped upgrading their gear a couple weeks ago to cap valor for 5.4. Maybe you should look into US Stormrage...great server for raiding pugs.

"In a day" is exaggeration, but the short answer is yes: People left because they weren't able to gear out alts in a month.

And falling behind on your main (say, perhaps because you couldn't do 29 dailies every day - more than the old cap before MOP!) meant a long, painful catch up, so why the fuck even bother at that point? Needless to also point out, no alts = no trade/alt runs where your main can catch up, so you were perma fucked.

^ He is talking about alts for actual raid groups, with VP rewards and 522 from normal mode that can be upgraded, 530 isnt that big of a deal.

Stormrage is simply one of the, if not the, biggest servers in the US (its population is higher than Illidan now). Being told "pay even more money to transfer your character" or "get fucked"... I guess some people just chose to quit also.

And yes, 520 is hardly what I would call geared, it's not even normal item level. LFR is dropping higher than 528 next patch. The gear from almost all sources is honestly laughable before 5.4, the fact that 496 gear is baseline only now is quite honestly pathetic. You had 2 options for gearing your characters for ToT (besides ToT): LFR, and Valor gear. LFR is RNG-based, Valor Gear is slower than shit with their new system. Literally the other gear you can get, besides 516 blue-moon daily-bag gear, is just crap.

Can I see your source that all the sub lost is due to not being able to gear alts? If you belong in a raiding gear alts is pretty simple. I don't know how it's possible to get behind on a main with so many means for gear. Between extra rolls, world bosses, valor gear, and LFR it's pretty much GG.

Transfering is a choice and if your on a crap hole server and want to be a raider then maybe you should pay for an xfer. It's not Blizzards fault you can't find people on your own server to raid normal.

You don't need to tell me how to gear, I outgear you by a lot. But that doesn't mean that the gearing process is good. I also kept up with the game from Day 1, for the most part.

Try telling that to people on literal dead servers.

Nothing is stopping them from just transferring to an other server. And don't start with the "it's so expensive" crap. It's not expensive. I bet all of them spend several times that amount on crap each month.

£15 per character is pretty expensive mate

I don't like the daily grind very much but saying 29 dailies per day is a lot of overkill. My warlock alt has done a grand total of probably less than 20 daily quests throughout mop and has a 531 ilvl and my mage does MAYBE 20-25 a week and its 547. So its not like it was some monumental grind or anything but it was still boring content I really didn't want to see

You don't have to transfer several characters at once. Start with your main since that is the one you want to get into a raiding guild. Alts can be transferred at a later date.
