From what I took from the fight she was meant to fall off, since you see a smoke bomb esque animation around the time she hits the ground.

Well, based on what I've heard of her recent actions, I can't say I'm happy if she survives, but it will explain why Blizzard was saying they want to start setting up new characters for the future, and then they go and kill off a lot of new big names at once (Malkorok, etc.).
