Question Battlefield Barrens... and all that fun stuff

Seeing as how people made me aware in my other thread that I simply cannot get Golden Lotus done in this time crunch... I thought I'd find out more about the Battlefield Barrens stuff. There's an achievement or two I hear, there's some decent gear, and it's going away tomorrow, smells like something I need to get! (OCD everything nerd trying to reconcile some of his former glory lololol)

Last night I managed to make it through the first few scenarios, barely, to the point that I am now gathering wood and crap for Vol'jin, just sadly with my shitty gear, I'm easily getting killed.

What I'm making this post is, to ask you all, what more do I need to do, how much of it, to get the proper achievements and all.

Of course I want to get the fancy boots, too. :P

If you want it, my armory: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/characte...eltress/simple

To get the achievement you have to complete the weekly at least once, which is 150 oil, 150 lumber, 150 stone, and 150 meat. Unless you're geared at least a 490 - 520 item level, you will struggle without help (or take forever).

I did do it as a shaman at 456 but it took about 7 hours. I suggest getting a blood dk in dps gear to help you out. I totally would but you're Horde scum, so.....

The weekly is independent of the boots quest, fyi. Once you turn in the initial 15/15/15/15, you can pick up a quest there to go to Kun Lai for the boots.

Get 15 of everything for vol'jin, so a small 2 quest questline for the boots and finally gather 150 of everything for mojo and 200 valor, the mojo can turn into crappy 489 gear if you have a kor'kron armour piece.

Blizzard has said they'll probably include the boots in some other way in the future.

EDIT: I thought you meant the transmog boots...

If he does 150/150/150/150 from killing mobs he'll be swimming in Kor'kon armor pieces.

I've completed the weekly (150x4) on all 5 characters pretty much every week. Get the solo stuff done (Scenarios, quest in Kunlai), and then there ought to be a group hammering commanders. Run in, whack it once, wait for it to die, collect loot, move to next. I usually knock it out on Tuesday. They may re-introduce the Troll Shoes. It's one of those "We'll think about it" things.

Hehe, pretty sure the transmog set is the original Dungeon set 2... which I did the whole questline for back in the day.

So, I guess I have some farming to do tonight!

Good thing I did all my homework.

I'm actually grinding on my last lv90 alt now to get the goodies, including the boots.

i wouldn't bother on characters like worgen, trolls and tauren, since they don't need the shoes, but for anyone else its worth getting.

Yeah but it'll be belts, hats, shoes, when what you want is shoulders or legs.

    The whole questline.

There is not enough time to farm the Zandalari guys across Pandaria for the tokens to get the reputation way up and then on top of that finish the entire questline.

    Ahh, gutted.

It's probably better now it's shorter too (double rep token, zandalari rep and work orders from tillers farm). It was a decent line, if long (thus annoying) at the beginning.

Depends on which class you take to the barrens...takes me just over a hour on my druids to get 150 of each items...see druids in flight form can gather those boxes stone..wood...meats ...oil drums without aggro mobs.....done it quite a few times on my druids....

How do you kite a dozen orcs to their death with a 500 geared moonkin? You've either worked out a bunch of tricks or you have a different spellbook than my moonkin.

Just wait in the middle of Northern Barrens. Eventually commanders will appear; get to them following the icon on the map, hit them at least once, collect loot, and do all over until you have 150 of every resources.
No need to spend hours. It took me 30 minutes to finish the quest cycle on a 436 ilvl mage.

They're useless without the mojos anyway and since you can only get one of those a week, you're pretty much boned on the set at this point.

OP - if you can get some buddies, I find farming the elites is more efficient than collecting by killing mobs in the respective resource areas. Be on the look out for caravans to escort and overtuned ones to loot.

I'm sure D2 will be available as vendor transmog some day (maybe in DMF) but it was a good opportunity for people who wanted the set.

I was more interested in grinding out a bunch of Gahz'rookis. I will probably file them away in the bank until next expansion.

Why brother killing mobs as a druid of any spec when you can fly around and collect the items without aggro...no repair bills that way.
