What is your favorite Christmas movie?

Two weeks until Christmas day, what is your favorite movie? Mine used to be Home Alone until 2000 when Ron Howard and Jim Carrey gave us a live-action Grinch with Carrey turned all the way up to 11. Ever since, there have been contenders, namely Polar Express and Carrey again with Disney's Christmas Carol (in an actual serious performance), but nothing beats the humor, outrageousness, and even the not-so emotional-but-emotional enough moments in 2000's Grinch. What is yours?

After talking with people on the internet, mainly north american folk, i knew there is this "culture" about Christmas movies, we never rly had something around here, we just watched whatever the air tv put, and was movies with Christmas theme, but it was always "whatever".

But there are some movies that were always on tv on this time of the year, i think the most memorable are Home alone, Edward Scissorhands, grinch(2000) and Jingle All the Way, all though, they could air at any month.

I think myself, was polar express

I don't celebrate Christmas or watch Christmas movies during that time of the year, but if I had to pick one I'd pick Die Hard because of course.

Home Alone for sure. I have really fond memories of this movie and some of its games, including a strategy side-scroller PC title from the 90s that seems to have been lost to time.

Is Die Hard really a Christmas movie though? I mean, it happens on a Christmas Eve, but it doesn't really explore any of the usual themes or festivities of Christmas. It also came out on a July.

I'mma let you off with just a warning this time, because it's Christmas.

How DARE you even ask that.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation would score a very close second for me. Number one on my list though? This:

Muppet Christmas Carol all the way.

I always snicker when Gonzo uses Rizzo to clean the window and Rizzo says "Thankyou for making me a part of this!"
Their banter throughout the whole movie is pretty good too.

Family has made a tradition to watch Die Hard while we wait for usually late sibling to show up/while we open presents, so will toss that one out as mine.

I don't know if anything in life has ever made me want to get drunker than the first and only time I watched that with my best bro. Yikes it was horrifying.

That sounds vaguely familiar but I've never seen the other 2! Are they at all good?

Hard to pick just one, but if I had, say, a top 10, then Die Hard, National Lampoons, Muppets Christmas Carol and A Christmas Story would 100% be in it.

There's also the classic classics: The stop-motion Rudolf movie. The original animated Grinch movie.

Polar Express never really stuck with me. Too much Uncanny Valley.

OMG 13:37 - Then Jesus said to His disciples, "Cleave unto me, and I shall grant to thee the blessing of eternal salvation."

And His disciples said unto Him, "Can we get Kings instead?"
