DiabloFans have somehow managed to get a hold of an extremely early build of RoS and have been succesful in datamining a ton of stuff from it!

Quick summary on datamined string references:

References to a few new gamemodes, including Loot Runs, Bounty, Horde Mode, Devil's Hand, and more.

And a ton of other stuff, including the ending cinematic for the Crusader.


I have not read/watched it all, and I'm probably not going to for a while. But the fact that a build is already put up could mean that a beta test might not be as far away as some might have feared. I'm personally really excited about the prospect of clans, and even more about ladders making a return. They certainly weren't lying when they said they still have a lot to show us about the game.

Here's a very interesting thing I found in the loot run mode strings. Could be considered spoilers, so click at your own risk.

Apparently, you will speak to none other than Zolton Kulle to start your loot run. Does this mean he is still alive? I certainly hope so and it seems very like considering that he has a couple of lines data mined directly adressing the player.

Line0 - Finish what you're doing now, then I'll open another portal for you.

Line0 - Be patient. I cannot open another portal for you until the raid guardian is defeated and everyone has returned..

May be that he is helping you to achieve your Nephalem's truest potential by giving you these challenges.

Probably has to do with that D2 type ladders wouldn't work in Diablo 3 and that the Battle.Net development team hadn't actually started working on it since there was no finalized concept (everything Battle.Net related for all Blizzard games are not made by the game development teams as I recall). The new ladder system will likely not function the same way as it did in the last game.

I am actually expecting more stuff to be talked about at BlizzCon, actually. This is apparently only a Friends and Family Alpha version and while it is a pretty darn huge datamine, I don't think they will cut out more than what they will continue adding into the game till launch day.

Looks like there will be a ton of stuff that will improve aspects that Diablo 2 didn't do so well while fixing the issues that Diablo 3 has which its predecessor exceeded at.

I smiled like a dork when I read this stuff. Darn, can't wait for this expansion now.
