As long as you don't bring Gypsys with you, we Americans may allow you to join us in space....maybe.

Heh. I'm from the EU and I agree that European space "achievements" are ridiculous compared to those of the USA. It's just the French arrogance...

Assuming that multiculturalism doesn't drag us back to the Dark Ages amd force us to invest 10k times the space exploration budget on security.

Who cares if the USA were the ones to send it off. This is a great event for human kind, I mean entering the space between solar systems/galaxies. It opens up some much potential at what we'll find. Maybe more ice and rocks... and lifeless planets... Or maybe so kinda of super race of alien beings which will either try to kill/enslave us or befriend us. Either way its exciting. GO SCIENCE! =D

No, it's been making its way closer and closer, like a while ago it finally reached the outskirts of the solar system.

It is now actually out, from what I can gather.

Yes. Upon your return, I will gift you a beautiful flower."

Depends on what counts as space achievement. The EU or several European countries still contribute to American and Russian space projects in form of technologies. In fact the Mars rovers are a living testament to that to which aforementioned French also added. In the future it's more important to work on international level rather than starting a "My space stuff is better than yours" kind of contest.

So is the JWST, if that thing ever actually gets off the ground.

Legendary comment right here. Not sure why but that was funny as hell.
Apply blizzards model to any other subscription service, you'd be outraged:
Netflix adds no new movies for a year, you click a new movie, there's a $5 fee.
You're in an accident, click your onstar button, but there's an addition $20 fee for them to help.
You turn on your tv only to find all you get are the infomercial channels. Every other show is pay per view.
See how dumb that model is?
